Default So I just painted my calipers.

I painted my calipers red with a caliper painting kit (Dupli color? whatever its called lol cant remember) and it looked pretty good. All I did was clean it with soap/water, then used the caliper cleaner and used a toothbrush to get it in and i applied about 3 coats. Looks pretty good so far, but is there anything else I should do to it? Im not too educated about keeping it looking polished/glossy/etc so is there anything I should buy/do to it to keep it looking nice fresh looking and glossy?

yeah, keep your car parked in a garage and don't drive it very much. That'll help keep brake dust from dirtying the calipers.

but really, I painted mine red a few months back and rarely clean them. I'd say to wash them with a soft brush because mine are already chipping a little bit.

Whats clear coat or primer do? I hear about it alot on the message boards but never really understood what it was for. Is there anything I could spray on or apply with a brush over the calipers to keep it glossy or protect it and not make it look so dull? Also will the paint leak off when I wash my car? I dont want red paint running all over my rims.

Yeah, you should clear coat them. They will still chip, but not as quickly if you didn't clear them. Acrylic lacquer from Dupli-Color works good. You can find it at Lowe's, Home Depot, or a few auto part stores.

NO!! The paint will not leak off when you wash your car. Just give it time to cure (5 days is what I waited) before you wash your ride.
