View Full Version : Installed TRD CAI
onemorescion 09-07-2007, 01:22 PM Here are some pics of the TRD CAI. Installed it Wednesday night. Took me almost 2 hours. Hardest part was getting the box up through the wheel well, other than that it was pretty simple.

ScioXBox 09-07-2007, 04:08 PM I'm still waiting on mine. Maybe I'll call them today for status. When I installed my randode style CAI I removed the battery for more access. Hopefully, it's the same way wtih the TRD CAI.. Looks good! how does it sound?
onemorescion 09-07-2007, 04:54 PM Did you relocate the battery or just remove for easier access? It sounds great after 3k RPM. Only thing I had to relocate was the negative battery wires.
ScioXBox 09-07-2007, 05:02 PM I just removed the battery for the installation... everything went back in the same place after. Any power gains?
superboxcarxb 09-07-2007, 06:55 PM that's a 2nd gen huh. weird. lol.
cincinfocal 09-10-2007, 03:30 PM can you post pics of the main filter box? im curious about tis openings...
onemorescion 09-11-2007, 05:06 PM my phone don't have flash on it and it's too dark for it to show clear enough on the pic. it's a decent size opening though.
rdfxb 09-16-2007, 11:38 PM So do you feel anything differnt on the car. Maybe a little extra kick, anything. They say it give 6hp and 6tq

Hey, another Randode style CAI modder. I also removed my battery to install mine rather than going through the well well. I wonder if the TRD air box would fit with the battery removed. It sure would be easier.
When I installed my springs I didn't remove the cowl assy and I just installed the TRD strut brace in 10 minutes without removing the cowl. Removing the cowl sure seems like a lot of unneccessary extra work.
schaumburgscion 09-17-2007, 07:45 PM What I thought was cool was the vent replacement for the punch out. Its nice to know TRD went that extra step.
ScioXBox 09-22-2007, 02:50 AM I have the the TRD intake installed plus TRD exhaust and it sounds awesome when you get above 3000 rpm.
miketf1 09-22-2007, 07:27 PM i am confused. is this the TRD CAI for the gen2xb? or a converted kit for the tC?
if this is for the Gen.2xB can you scan and post the instructions? i want to know what i am getting into before i order!

hotthatch69 10-03-2007, 04:20 PM wow looks good cant wait to get mine in
Breadbox_Boy 10-03-2007, 11:54 PM bump for finding out what affect the CAI has on gas mileage???
I installed a K&N CAI for my 06 box, and really liked the horsepower boost.. mileage was always good with the 06 box anyway, but I don't want to do anything with my 08 that will decrease the gas mileage. (after all, compared with the 06, the 08 has PLENTY of horses under the hood) :eyebrow:
Whispaz 10-04-2007, 07:06 PM hey, for those of you who did the Randode adaptor CAI....
HOW MUCH WOULD YOU SELL THE KIT FOR?
turboCoupe 10-07-2007, 06:24 PM I love the TRD intake. best mod on my B so far.
Whispaz 10-10-2007, 04:13 PM anyone selling theirs? (randode one, not TRD)
