Default Stock iPod Connector

I was curious, does anybody know or have a way to keep the ipod and Headphone connector on the New '08 XB if I change the deck. I wanted to replace my HU with a new Kenwood or Alpine Video deck. Is there any way to keep the original equipment or am I out of luck.

I would think you are out of luck on that. Check with the audio shop your getting the deck from and see what they can do. maybe splice something in.

From what I gather, the iPod connection in the xB is a proprietary type of plug. It may be possible if you can get a diagram of the pin config for the iPod port on the Scion and create some kind of adaptor, but no guarantees on that.

Default 3rd Gen and Video

Does anyone know if the stock connector to the SNS will work with an old 3rd Gen 15GB iPod.

Has anyone determined if you can watch video on the SNS from a video iPod?

I'm still working on the iPod stock connector to my Alpine.

But... AUX is possible to splice into aftermarket head units!!

If you remove the center console and cut off the cords running to the stock AUX, there are 5 wires. You only need three of them. The black is ground, then two other are left and right channels.

Just cut an RCA cable and splice the ground, left channel wire, and right channel wire into your stock AUX in the console.

Prolly lost some people, but maybe someone understood!
