View Full Version : What do you use to dry your car?
tC_Normo 10-16-2004, 08:31 AM i was just wondering what you guys use to dry your car after you've zaino'd, mr. cleaned, mothered, or meguired your car? i was thinking of buying a chamois or one of those long water absorber/chamois/sheep hide bar things.
ScionLawyer 10-16-2004, 12:51 PM I use a synthetic absorber, its like a chamois but absords more and does not dry hard like a real chamois. :D
TOAST3R 10-16-2004, 12:54 PM i use a microfiber towel. its worked good for me so far.

ditto!
Daemon1313 12-07-2004, 06:35 PM Don't laugh but the best way I've found to dry cars is soak up the large pools of water with some kind of chamois and then use a leaf blower to "blow dry" the car.
I've also been playing with the Mr. Clean autodry. Seems to work pretty good so far.
Greenmnkey 12-07-2004, 06:42 PM I use mr clean, dont have to dry
Joehnn 12-07-2004, 06:45 PM i use a microfiber towel. its worked good for me so far.
I drive it home from the touchless carwash and dry the remainder with a microfiber towel.
squirrel 12-07-2004, 06:49 PM Microfibre towels. I apply polish, glaze, and carnuuba wax with it also. Man, the Shining Monkey stuff works GREAT!
Scionic 12-07-2004, 06:50 PM California Water Blade.......it's awesome!!!
I'm lazy about drying so that thing does wonders and then I finish up with one of those super absorbant synthetic towels. Dry your xB in a quarter of the time!!! Can't beat that.
TakumiJr 12-07-2004, 07:06 PM The absorber or Mircofiber towels. Going over 90mph on the freeway after a car wash could work too

TheScionicMan 12-07-2004, 08:01 PM The Absorber ROCKS. Easier to use than a chamois, more absorbant.
Drying by hand is crucial for a good job, IMO. It gets anything that you missed during waashing and eliminates streaking and spotting you'll get with airdrying. Never tried it, but I'm rather suspect of that Mr. Clean thing...
SUPASCIONXB 12-07-2004, 08:09 PM Mr clean wash, do a quick 60 mph blast down the road come back and wipe the few remaining spots with a clean terry cloth towel

IBNXB 12-08-2004, 12:04 AM Water blade, then the absorber. I have the Mr. Clean, but I am pretty anal and like it completly dry.

Munch 12-08-2004, 12:20 AM California Water Blade and a chamois 8)
scionracerxb 12-08-2004, 12:41 AM after a wash, the best way, is to us an air compressor, and blow it dry. but if you don't have one, then the absorber is good to get most of the water, then go over it with the microfiber towels. as far as waxing, i us a regular terry towel to get off the majority of the wax, and then i go back over it with the microfiber to get the rest off, and polish it.

 and it is fun to use :D
TDIGuy04 10-03-2005, 08:26 PM Just a waffle weave microfiber towel...I don't excessively rinse my car when washing it so not enough water to need a water blade, plus if you miss a piece of dirt that blade will scratch the finish if it drags it.
Tropi-Care 10-04-2005, 05:23 PM Check out our line of microfiber towels and applicator pads at www.gotmicrofiber.com. Complete product line can be seen at www.tropi-care.com

I've never had a problem with the WaterBlade. If you do a good enough job washing it, there is no dirt left.
azmudbloer 10-08-2005, 06:10 AM I love the cali blade and use it on my who fleet. scions are small try drying a f350 long bed
