if u want a tc engine in your xb....what i would do is trade in my xb and buy a 2nd gen xb....

its gonna be alot of work to do the swap, more then likely alot of custom work + time + money.

I have come to the conclusion that by watching shows like American Chopper and OverHaulin that some think its as simple as just drop it in and it will work. Aint that easy.

By doing an engine swap in any late model car you have to consider all the electronics that are in each car. EVERYTHING is computerized now. Gone are the days of a simple engine swap where all you had to worry about was getting the engine mounts right.

Can it be done ... sure it can. We can send a man to the moon, a rover to Mars and soon have a woman President. But do you really want to take a 15K $ car .... and spend another 15 to 20K to have a engien swap done, and done right? Sure your buddy down the street can do an engine swap for ya, for a couple of grand. But get ready to take mass transit or ride a horse ( for those of you who are in the sticks LOL ) cause chances are he isnt going to switch EVERYTHING over.

If you wanted a car with more power, why didnt you buy it in the first place? Like everyone said here ... get the 2nd gen xB .... all the bugs have been worked out, and it comes with a warrenty!

For the what it's worth factor, the XB was designed for room and good fuel economy. If ya wanna hotrod something go get yourself a late 60's or early 70's american car and go hog wild. Otherwise you are just BEGGING for trouble, grief and heartache which will eventually affect your wallet.

you'd be better off buying a supercharger or a turbo
than attepting to do that swap
