as if the creaking wasnt bad enough, there is an air leak in my sunroof. i can start to hear it around 45 mph and it gets really really loud. sometimes i cant hear it through my music wen i have it turned up to 40 or even 45 on the freeway (speed aprox 80)

dealer says they cant fix it how lame is that!!!!!!!!

 

Take it to another dealership then.

None of the tC's I have driven made that noise.

 

Same here. Cars with sunroof's are going to make some air noise, but if it's loud enough to drown out music especially, it's defective. Take to another dealer, or call SCION HQ.

No hissing for me, above and beyond the normal sounds of wind hitting the car...

Did you buy your car early in production? There might be a loose bolt or two, there's a TSB specifically to fix popping, but it may also help with the wind.

Really? The part about the mercedes benz sunroof was relevant? In a thread about the tC sunroof?

 

Cyber just wanted to get her sig into another thread. She's obviously daring the admin to ban her.

 

she's just tryin to say that the benz's sunroof, which is similar to that of the tC, was built correctly. scion could learn a thing or 2 from mercedes.

from what i gather, there is a fix for the creaking/rattling sunroof. we'll have to see if its a permanent fix or it the problem will resurface later in the life of the tC.

 

Like Cybergypsy, I am one of those lucky ones that has a totally silent panoramic roof, but mine's on a tC. If yours is hissing it is most likely a defect unique to your particular car. Just for the record, MB has had more than 5 years to work out the problems with their panoramic roof and they are still getting complaints. Check out these links to the benzworld forum:

What is the update on your situation. I get the same hissing, but it doesn't always happen. There is no pattern either, so its hard to troubleshoot.

 

my dealer said they cant fix the air leaking or hissing noise. they can only fix it if it is a water leak.

dealers suck!!!! i always hated factory warranty. never gives you what you want. no offense to does who work in the service department.
