Who sells pulleys for higher boost than 9.5lbs.? And what is the safest amount you can run on pump gas?

NST makes the 12lb pulley if I'm correct. But it's special order only...

NST can also make 14psi pulleys..but like everyone already said, it's all special order. AIM mike, his sn is NSTonAIM. he'll get you what you need.

i have a 10.5 from NST - im waiting to find out how everybody is gonna get that tamper bolt off then im installing the 10.5 w/ a belt thats 1/2inch smaller then the 9.5 pulley that NST sells ....then retuned. I cant wait for the results.

Yes - thats why I went with 10.5lbs because people are running 10lb's with the turbos and thats a lot more harsh then the s/c so I figured that as long as I was tuned (which I am) .....then a retune and 10.5 should hold up ok. The last thing I want is my head gasket blowing or something. Just be ready to wait 6-8weeks to get the pulley and the cost is more. IM them on AIM and get the details. Overall the pulley looks great ....I cant wait to get it installed.

no - running a smaller s/c pulley is the method of getting the s/c shaft to turn faster

 

you could make the crank pulley bigger and that would increase boost as well. problem with that is that i believe there is something that would get in the way if the crank pulley were to be enlarged.

 

^ but that would only need to happen when you couldnt make your s/c pulley any smaller (something that the trd s/c owner does not have to worry about) - I think a 14lb pulley will fit ... way more then my s/c will ever see

 

true, but the problem with getting a really small pulley would be the belt slip issue. so lets say you go 12lb pulley (+/- actual psi) and get a bigger crank pulley and you would actually see mayb 13-14psi vs. getting a really small 14psi pulley and not even seeing that much because the belt goesnt have enough pulley to bite on. but like i said, the bigger crank isnt really an option for us unless the particular person doesnt mind getting rid of whatever is in the way of making a bigger crank.

 

^ there is truth to what you say. My personal feeling is that if you are going to go above 12psi with the TRD s/c then you should be looking for another s/c setup ....i keep pondering over asking rippmods how much they would charge for a custom setup. No doubt they can make a lot more hp with a better blower

 

that'd be awesome to have another s/c for the tc out there. problem is that it would probably cost more then it's going to be putting out. and if we're talking different type of s/c, it would probably require some custom work with things in the engine bay to get it to fit under the hood. doesnt hurt to ask though

 

I chatted with NST on AIM. If I remember all the minute details correctly, it's 149 for whatever pulley you want made and it will take about 5 weeks, give a take a lil.
