Zoo 09-12-2007, 05:34 PM you didn't hit the panic button on your remote did you? draxcaliber 09-12-2007, 05:38 PM is it the vehicle stability control? pwg_860 09-12-2007, 06:13 PM No I didn't hit the panic. I did once just to see if it worked. This just happens when I am driving. Come to think of it, it's usually when I turn left. Weird. It will beep 5 or 6 times then faster 5 times or so, then stop. I don't have stability control. Thanks for the replys. zoltiz 09-12-2007, 07:18 PM Sounds like the seatbelt alarm. Anything heavy on the front pass seat? Parking brake also has a beeper if you try to drive with it on. pwg_860 09-12-2007, 07:30 PM Sounds like the seatbelt alarm. Anything heavy on the front pass seat? It's maybe 6 or seven pounds with the freezer packs. The other time it was a laundry bag with about 15 to twenty pounds. But why no seat belt light on the display? Anyway, I will try my favorite winding road with nothing on the seat and see if that cures it. Thanks for possibly helping me avoid a trip to the dealer! dbax 09-12-2007, 11:14 PM I had this same thing happen to my xD -- my backpack was the cause. The seatbelt light is near the clock, not on the dash. It can be kind of hard to see if it's bright outside. pwg_860 09-13-2007, 12:34 AM I can attest that it was indeed the seatbelt alarm. Whew! thanks, everybody who responded and to zoltiz who nailed the problem. jamesIV 09-13-2007, 01:40 AM if you go to your dealer you can request that they turn off the beeping, i am actually a toyota technician and already turned off mine because i carry a laptop around and a lot of gear to go with it. only problem is you have to make the dealer do it because it requires a toyota scan tool pwg_860 09-13-2007, 01:24 PM Hey james, great info. Thanks, I may just do that! zoltiz 09-13-2007, 01:31 PM No more chicken dance with ODO button and a key to play with the seatbelt reminder? Sucks. SLODEANIS 09-14-2007, 12:57 AM Yup, most likely the seat belt reminder...BUT...Don't forget if the e-brake is on, you will also get the beeping sound (and the light). The VSC beeping is really fast...I already tried it on my xD. |
