If only they made them in Amber, I'd already have a set installed. My plans are to have complete amber (inside and out, plus gauge change). So far, I've only picked up an amber interior dome light.

They don't make amber cold cathodes, so you're never going to find an amber cold cathode kit. My suggestion: get yellow ones and tint them with some orange stained glass paint.

I have a white set installed. You could get a white set and make an Amber plastic shield. This would protect the fragile glass tubes and give you control over your color choice... my two cents. RPM

They may not make amber cold cathodes, but you can use the yellow LED kit that's available. LED's are not as bright as cold cathodes but because of the low mcd level of the yellow led's, they appear amber and will match closely to the interior lights. Also, if you need any tips on changing the LED's on your gauge cluster, look at my sig for my howto. :D

Just to clear this up; the fragile glass tubes are protected already. That's what the plastic housing with the square ends is for. Further, you'd probably spend more money protecting the tubes than you would spend to replace them in the off chance that they broke.

I'm using some clear plastic packaging material that came with a recent large purchase. The kind that most carded retail items come in now (the kind that's hard as hell to open; requires scissors or razor). It's tough stuff and free if you happen to get the right size. I'm using it for the under the seat light tubes. RPM
