ok so i have the tsudo catback exhaust , the older version without this new 18'' res they say it has now, anyways...

i want to get a header and im worried bout noise levels because i already get looks from cops, and everyone else for that matter, with just the catback. well my question is, if i get a high flow cat, would it help with the noise any combined with the header, or am i going to have to get an oem style muffler, because i love the n1 canister hanging under my car at the back...

sup bro! long time no talk!

a high flow cat won't do it.. i tried. when i put on my megan header, the rasp was unbearable. i tried a hi-flow cat -silenced up the tone a bit, but the rasp was still there at high RPMs. then I put in 2 magnaflow resonators.. 1 is 15" and another is 18" and that fixed it. it's smooth all the way to redline throughout all gears. but i changed my axleback to HKS so that helped it out a bit.

hey what up spot, yeah its been a while.

well then do you recommend putting in a second res, or a cat? i've also been playing with the idea of welding a different canister on the axel back..

im looking to get the tsudo 4-2-1 header if that helps any?

yeah dude, get a different axleback. the tsudo axleback doesnt really do a good job of actually muffling the sound.

i recommend you putting at least a 30" resonator or 2 15".. 1 resonator added with the resonator on the tsudo midpipe wont do anything.. i tried that too.

you'll have to get a resonator, a high flow cat wont do it and you still won't pass emissions in CA.

no, he'll pass emissions most likely. it's not the hi-flow cat that'll he should be worried with. it's that muffler. with the hi-flow cat and 4-2-1 header, that'll actually make it worse because of the higher rate of exhaust flow. although, it'll sure help with performance nonetheless.

don't get me wrong, the tsudo exhaust system is great for what it cost. you should look to upgrade in a quieter axel-back/muffler. i have a tsudo for my rsx and that poop is REALLY loud. it took a twinloop muffler to quiet it down. after you take care of that part, you're be straight.

no, in CA, for most newer cars (obd2) you have to have a oem cat or a certified replacement. if a smog shop sees that you have a header you will fail right there.

man, that's harsh. oh well, florida is actually upgrading to CARB emission standards next year. not cool. FARB. :(

sonuva... that sucks...

well first off, im going to look for a new canister to weld onto my axel back, any sugegstions? and maybe replace the res. if it doesn't help, i'll look into a diff exhaust system that isn't as loud

if your just going for sound then why not get a trd or a megan oe-rs?
