Default Best intake?

In everyone's opinion, what's the best intake for the '06 tc...Short ram or CAI...and also what brand is everyone's favorite...I'm sure this may be in here already but I'm not the best searcher on here and I always have to search through 400 pages before I find anything relevant...any help is very appreciated...and thanks in advance...

well from what ive seen injen has gotten the most gains out of the intakes..and as for short ram vs cai...it depends on how you drive.. also with injen you can either use both pieces for a cai
or just 1 piece for a short ram.im not sure what other brands have this as well. probably fujita??

"Short Ram or CAI?"

It's up to you to decide what's best for you.

CAI will yield more power than any Short Ram, but you run the risk of hydrolocking your engine since the filter sits lower to ground. If you get a CAI just watch out for big puddles, drive smart, and you should be ok. Most people around here run the CAI. If you feel comfortable using it than go with it.

"Which Brand?"

The general consensus is that the Injen CAI gives the most HP. It is also massive and makes the engine bay look good.

The TRD CAI cost a lot more, but it comes with a bypass valve that can help prevent hydrolocking. The bypass valve is just a deterrent though, you can still hydrolock the car if you get enough water on the filter.

I've heard mixed things about the Fujita CAI, I've read it can fry MAF sensors and give check engine lights. Some people love theirs though, luck of the draw I guess.

IF you do end up going with injen you could always buy the aem bypass valve to give you that extra security

Tons of vids on youtube with the TRD CAI + TRD Exhaust and Injen CAI + TRD Exhaust. Both sound very nice. Type in "tc trd" and you'll find a lot of clips.

I've got a muffler shop that's gonna do a custom cat-back for me...he's gonna do 2.5" pipes back to a dual chamber flowmaster or magnaflow...the reason why is cuz I heard another tC that used to live by me with a similar set-up and it sounded sick...it was really deep and had no rasp at all to it...

unless you plan on going turbo, you're not gonna need 2.5" piping
