Yeah I kind of find that annoying that the light only illuminates when any of the doors or the hatch is open....why didn't they wire it so it would light like in the tC when you turn on your headlamps or at least when you opened the compartment door...gessshhhh I'm looking to see if any mechanic is brave enough to venture in and rewire it so it will work the way it should. I'll let you know.

They figured that we only need to open the box when the door is opened!!U can actually modify it to switch on when the console is open.Just need to use a different power source and put it thru a normally open limit switch.I have studied the box b4,it is possible to implement, there is enuf space in there.I can give u the colour code of the wiring if u r advanturous enuf to try...

hi wngr, i want to know how to do it also. I was thinking the storage box light should be turn on when you switch on the CD player. And it should be off when you turn off the CD player. I want to know how to do that so badly...

There is an output to turn on the amplifier if there is any.U can use that line to turn on the LEDs whenever the cd player is switched ON.

How should I put it... not every radio has an output to turn on the amplifier. Each brand has a different wiring table so I cant tell you exactly which one to use. What I can suggest is for u to get the wiring diagrams and show it to me over here.I will help u with that.Would that be ok?
