My uncle said he got a 5k Scion/Toyota in the mail today...

Are there any dealers here that can verify, or clerify what this is, and how it works??

I understand how a rebate works, I just want to know if it's an instant rebate on the car, and what car...

 

Can you give us a little more info? What dealership did he buy at?

haha. im guessin its the 50.00 gift card. if he got 5000 back then i bought at the wrong dealership. sounds too damn fishy

 

There is no official $5000 rebate. What that certificate probably said was "get UP TO $5000 rebate on a new vehicle at XX Toyota Scion Dealership." Why would Toyota offer a $5K rebate on a car that is selling like hot cakes at it's sticker price. If it was selling like the GTO then I could expect one... but there won't ever be a rebate that large with any Scion because of the very very very small markup on them.

Is that $50 gift card from only certain dealerships only or is it everyone who buys a scion gets it?

 

You have to finance through Toyota.

 

I know there's a dealer here that advertises $5,000 off every car in the showroom.. but only because they all have 10-15K in dealer-installed upgrades (leather, dvd, PS2, TVs, Sound systems, Wheels, etc).... nice.

 

He must be pulling you CHAIN....

They say it takes 2-3 months. I haven't got mine either. Our luck they'll stop giving them out now.

 

no no it does take awhile. i bought mine in august and got mine a couple weeks ago. dont worry. it should come.

(also make sure u finance thru toyota financial. its a must i think)
