Default installing tranny cooler(Installed with pictures NO 56K!)

I Just bought this tranny cooler and I am hopefully going to be installing it on the car this weekend. I search the web site and found great DIY instructions!
The only thing I question about the instructions it say that I have to take the front bumper off and un bolt the radiator and tilt it back to get the cooler on. Is this a necessary step? Can anyone tell me from experience how hard a tranny cooler is to install and how long it will take me? I have a lift in the garage so I think that may make the instally go a little smother.
Any information from you guys would be great!
Thanks,
Chris

I've been browsing around for oil coolers myself. Not specifically for the tranny though. Anywho, I'd imaginge it wouldn't be too difficult to install, but you'd have to be a lil creative. I'm sure the bumber would have to come off to secure it but I wouldn't think that the radiator would have to come out.

I found some pretty good prices at amazon.com for those that are interested in a universal kit.

Bump.....

You can use it to cool any kind of oil. I dont know if you would have a reason to cool you tranny oil in a manual. But if you do you could use it.

removing the front bumper is easy and will make it easier to zip tie the bottom of the tranny cooler to your radiator...unless you have unbelievably skinny arms.

Alright well I finally installed the tranny cooler and I thought it was pretty easy and stright foward. I did have to drop the front bumper off and the splash shields under the car. And I didnt have to touch the radiator at all the way I installed it. Now it only took me about an hour and 15 minutes to do but I did it in my garage on a car lift that I have. The lift made it really easy of course. Tool wise all I needed was a 10mm and a screwdriver to take the bumper off. Then I neede a drill with a 1/4 in bit on it and a couple of 1/4 bolts with lock nuts thats all. I had to move the horn to the side a bit as you can see in the pictures below. And also the hardware that came with the kit. The only other thing that you have to get you hands on is some more 3/8 hose there isnt enough in the kit I got.

These pictures shows you where I installed the cooler. I insatalled it stright up and down for air porposes.

Also I used the stock cooling loop for the tranny and added the cooler after the return comes out of radiator as shown in the picture below.

Once the lines came out of the cooler I snuck both lines through a little space in the bottom of the radiator on the driver side as shown.

Also in the kit there was a stright fitting that came that was able in fit in the fitting so it was ready to accept the 3/8 hose as shown.

If you have any question about the install let me know
