Also, I got to drive in a parade lap around the race track in the xA with 4 people in the car. That was fun. Although I've driven Laguna Seca in my 300ZX TT at least 4 times, this was the first time in the xA and with 4 people! My buddy took incar video footage of the whole single parade lap. I'll post a link once I get it, but I don't know how to host it yet... Any suggestions greatly appriciated.

Cool! I'm starting to envy the Absolute Red...

Last Saturday, I went to a hobby store by my parents house. I parked next to a red Ferrari Modena with racing stripes. It was nice...I took a picture with my phone, but my brat sister has my phone cable...

No. It wasn't any orgainized Ferrari get together or anything.

Actually, me and my buddy knew these guys for some time now and have raced in our 300ZX at a few events with them before. The F360 owner has a 944Turbo that he's modified to race car level, and the F355 owner has a NSX that's he's modified to race car level too. Actually, I think the F360 owner sold or dropped the 944T and got an EVO that's he's starting to race now.

Anyways, they came to the track to visit another mutual college(sp) of ours that was racing their Viper wheel to wheel for the first time in the SpeedVision GT World Challenge race.

Anyways, you can catch up with those yahoos on their web page at http://www.nsxfiles.com
Very good writer and lots of funny commentary.

Also, if your interested, the race that we all raced in was OTC, (Open Track Challege). 7 race tracks in 7 days. http://www.opentrackchallenge.com I raced my buddies 500hp 300ZX TwinTurbo back in 2002, in the T2 class. This was the first OTC. The guy racing Viper in the Speedvision race that day was only an amature back in OTC. It was great to seem him try and run with the big boys.

Parking an xA next to those Ferraris really isn't fair, it makes the Ferraris look so cheap in comparison :D

Ha!

And you know, at one time me and my buddy were thinking of asking some people if they could huddle around my car, gauking at it, checking it out, and totally ignoring the Ferrari's.

I waited and waited for a group to walk by, but nothing.. Only singles or pairs of people walked by..

That would have been a classic picture!

A buddy of mine that was with me at the race track reminded me that the NSXfiles.com crew posted their story on why they were at the Laguna Seca that weekend with the Ferraris.

http://www.nsxfiles.com/wayne_gets_married.htm

If you get a chance, I strongly recommend reading some of their other stories. Me and a number of my friends have met them numerous times and have been following their stories and bought their videos since 1997-ish.

(Could somebody move this back to the xA General Discussion, like it was when I first made the post? I think it got missplaced after the xA/xB forum separation.)

i wish i could take my xB around Laguna, best chance i have is Road Atlanta since i'm in Florida. Anyone know if they let you onto RA? I've only heard of one of the NASCAR tracks letting you on if you buy over a certain amount of stuff from their shops.

(A bit off topic)
There's events at just about every track in America that allow you to take your car out.

Just doing a quick google, I found the following to help you get on your feet,

The only way your going to be able to get your xB out on the track is through some car club like the PCA, or BMW, or though some generic organization that rents out the track for the "other" folks. example, http://www.tracquest.com/ http://www.trackmasters.com/

2004 Schedule for almost every East Coast race track. http://www.trackschedule.com/sched.html

I tried finding a listing on Road Atlanta's site like we have for Laguna Seca, Sears Point, and Thunderhill ( http://www.thunderhill.com/calendar.html ) detailing the organizations renting the track for events, but I couldn't find one. Either their unusually protective of their rental schedual for the year, or they monopolize it with their own events.
