if you dont want to use the headunit to control the iPod, then go get an audio cable and plug it in the aux plug.

V Big edit thanks to Lloyd

I got rid of my erroneous post so that nobody else is confused.

Guess it pays to read that manual. I had never paid any attention to the direct control stuff. Good to know and thanks for the heads up.

I would never want to use the direct control unless I had the same situation as postman. How could you resist using the Touch directly. lol

You can turn off the ipod control on the deck. Which deck do you have?

I was just thinking, since I have relocated my iPod connector to the inside of the glove compartment as many others have done here, perhaps you could relocate the iPod Connector to someplace on the shifter pod or the shelf area or someplace else on the dash to make the Touch more accessible postman? Bottom of the fairly useless little cup on the left of the steering wheel maybe? Inside the dash with only the end of the connector coming out of the shifter pod and a mount for the Touch next to the shifter?

Just a few ideas.....

Default cable

Really don't need a longer cable.........Will velcro just below shifter.....I must decide on which Ipod to buy.........That Touch only has 8-16 Gs.....Classic 80 might be better

I actually do need a longer cable, as I have an iphone that I hook up in my xA and play as an ipod, but I could charge, play off iPod AND take calls if my cable was longer... I'd really like to locate one, if anyone has any ideas...

A-HA... I kept looking for a ipod-> Pioneer conector extension, didn't even think of a simple male -> female cable... thanks! nice to automatically have an phone car charger when I bought the iphone! The iPhone works perfectly with the scion dock- Music mutes and I hear the ring thru the stereo when I get a call... highly recommend it if you already have the Pioneer iPod upgrade.
