I have a D3 and since my ipod crapped out on me and they play the same 7 songs on the radio, I have decided to add a satellite radio: now XM or Sirius?

I like the XM navtraffic addition however I would only be able to use it when I go to St Louis durinng the winter and when I occasionally go back to Chicago. It wouldn't be used daily. Would it be worth the extra $4 a month?

Music wise, I mainly listen to rock, jazz, and the 80s...the girl likes country and 80s rock so I guess I'll add that to the list.

Sports....don't really listen to them in the car, I'd rather watch

What do you guys think? Any feedback about XM or Sirius?

I have had XM for about 5 years,never had Sirus.

Its decent at best.
the only part I like is that the music is somewhat better but not by much.
If you listen to the pop stations it will be just like regular FM.
If you go up to the genre specific it gets better.

FCC has to approve the merge and this can take a very long time. Also, nay-sayers are accusing the 2 of becoming 1 mass conglomerate and having a 'monopoly' on the satellite market.

Either one is good. I prefer SIRIUS (Because of NFL Football, NBA Basketball), but XM (we have it in our TSX) is nice also. They both pretty much have the same music. SIRIUS does have Howard Stern while XM has Amos & Andy. So I would say it boils down to if sports is important to you.

Also, go to their websites. You can view their line ups and I know at SIRUS you can do a 3 day trial. Good luck. :P

i have had sirius for about 4 years now and love it.. my buds have xm and i can't stand it. Sirius has a much better music variety. but less sports, plus sirius has stern if you like him.. his 2 channels are funny, then blue collar has some good comics, and then raw dog with all the uncensored dirty stuff that is funny ____. maxim magazine has a kick ___ channel on 108. my buddy at circuit city told me this before i bought mine. he said if you like sports and talk radio go xm... if you like music go sirius.

XM is broadcast is a higher quality, so the music sounds sharper.

But Sirius has alot of music chanels that are excellent.

Personally if oyu want to see the difference, go to a friends house who has Dish Network and DirectTV. Their music channels are Sirius and XMr respectivly.

I wish Tiesto and AvB were on Sirius. But Rap/Trance. Ill go Sirius.

BTW Hawaii does not have Sat Radio avalible in car. Only can get it here on Dish/DTV. So i listen from my subscription on the computer.
