weekend warriors-sanctioned racing
checked out search (nuthin') and also 'autosports' (all tC stuff). anybody with any interest or info regarding 'box' racing. i don't even know what autocross is!!? after 30k and some mods, i just keep goin faster and faster around the same curves and corners and am wondering when this thing will slide and/or drift? i got crap flyin' around the cabin and am seriously considering recarro type seats (to hold me in place). anyway it is getting to look like the speeds neccesary to really have fun with the box negate the public roads. i can usually double the posteds for curves! i believe this thing out-corners my bike (but it is lowered 2 1/2 inches and tends to 'drag' in the turns)! feedback?
look for something like scca sponsored events in your area.
they usually meet on weekends at places with giant black top parking lots to make a course of cones. it will test your box's ability to handle, corner and rotate just fine, and it will be lots of fun.
looking at the mods in your profile, it looks like your class would be STS.
i'm sure somebody on here can tell you where to go for aut x in your area.

While you may be able to occasionally break the rear end loose in a tight corner with a stiff enough suspension set-up, a true drift requires a rear-wheel-drive vehicle...
Auto-X is great fun, especially since you enjoy handling over straight-line racing. There ought to be plenty of organized and private club 'crosses in your area (though I've heard SCCA, etc., have had a difficult time deciding what class to slap the Box in, and therefore they're usually put into classes where they're at a big disadvantage).
