View Full Version : CF tC hood installed *pics
lvnurs9 10-19-2004, 02:39 PM My CF hood finally arrived yesterday, and I thought I would share with you. I purchased it through www.creativecompacts.com and although the site is not completely finished and up to par, you may purchase if you wish. I also installed the CF dash kit and WR secret intake this weekend. They are also available for purchase. You can check out more pics on my site http://members.cardomain.com/lvnurs9

Juan1224 10-19-2004, 03:11 PM LVNURS9-
I checked out your cardomain.com page and I saw that you said you had some problems with the latch on the CF hood. Can you elaborate? I really wanna get one. Thanks.
Juan
P.S. Cool intake!
mikochu 10-19-2004, 03:14 PM Hrmmm... Is it just me or is there a bigger gap on the sides...compared to the stock hood?
lvnurs9 10-19-2004, 03:19 PM The piece attached to the hood (the latch lol) is attached with screws- not fixed like the stock. Because the hood is so light, it didn't wanna snag. We just used washers to make the latch a lil thicker and it worked just fine. We contacted the company and the probelm has been corrected. You wouldn't have the problem if you purchased it. I bought the first hood from them.
As far as the gap, I am sure it is slightly wider than stock, but not by much. If you have seen a CF hood on any other vehicle it's the same way. That close up was at an angle, which may make it look a little bit larger than it is. I think it fits perfectly.
Stu_Gotti 10-19-2004, 03:51 PM Nice! I'm definelty going to look into that!
ScionBandit 10-19-2004, 04:47 PM nice!! im still waiting for mine to arrive
v0lc0m85 10-20-2004, 12:38 AM that looks awsome. i think im going to have to look into that, but first im getting the injen exhaust. i gotta live one paycheck at a time haha. i wonder how good it will look on my white tc? probly would look good with the smoked overlays too
looks great...I think im going drop my tC first before the CF hood.
Juan1224 10-20-2004, 12:51 AM Thanks for the info and for answering so quickly!

Same here. I'm dying for lowering springs! (dont want the TRD ones)
Lightn899 10-20-2004, 02:16 AM how do you like the cf dash kit? good quality? look tacky at all?
gain of 13 hp just through the intake?
something is fishy.....
lvnurs9 10-20-2004, 05:43 AM how do you like the cf dash kit? good quality? look tacky at all?
I was skeptical about the kit at first, but I think it looks really good. The CF flows really well with the black interior. Like I said, check out my site for pics or creativecompacts.com.
As far as the intake...check his website. The dyno sheet is there to prove it. The intake is a new design made to push more air through the throttle body by inserting another, smaller intake inside the 3.5in pipe. You can see an uninstalled picture on my site and an explanation on his.

fliPtTc 10-20-2004, 04:13 PM Looks awsome, only question I have is where to the washer jets go?or do you just lean out the window and spray it down when your driving in the snow?
PandaIst 10-20-2004, 04:29 PM Some cf hoods don't have the washer nozzles pre-drilled at all. It looks like this is the case with this one.
The 13hp gain on just the weapon R intake does sound fishy.
lvnurs9 10-20-2004, 05:50 PM There are no pre drilled holes, sorry. It's a brand new hood. I will contact the company to see what can be done about having them drilled.
As far as the intake, look for yourself:

XtremeTc 10-25-2004, 10:54 PM Looks good can`t wait till spring to put my hood on
hotbox05 10-25-2004, 11:38 PM i bet that intake isnt carb approved tho huh? what a pain. any note as to if that intake will be made for the xb?. man tc's lose so much hp through the transmission. damn. 160 at crank to what 126? damn that blows. talk about inneficient
lvnurs9 10-26-2004, 03:05 PM No it doesn't have a CARB number...sorry. Eventually they may, but I believe it's a very long process. As far as the hp loss, ya it sucks, but you also have to take in account for the machines used. Which ever machine determined that the tC got 160hp should test it to the wheels stock and with intake just to be accuarate. But oh well lol.
As for the xB, I will look into that for ya
