Anyone have suggestions on helping to tone down the background noise on my mic for phone calls? I tried placing it on both the steering wheel column and on the visor, but everyone says it sounds like crap either way. I think the car is just too noisy for it. Help!

The mic is supposed to be noise cancelling. Of course I have no idea what it sounds like since I'm on the wrong end of the call, so it's hard for me to diagnose the problem.

get some deadening stuff for your car? reduce road noise? that'd be good for your calls and for your personal enjoyment, a tad on the expensive side I might think though. I mean if you deadened everything, that and its time consuming.

What deck are you using? and is the mic something that came with it or did you buy the mic with a hands-free kit. and what are all the brands. I'll do some lookin' around for you.

It's the Alpine Blackbird B200 and I'm using the included mic. Maybe I can get a better one?
