Is it possible to play a dvd mp3 cd in the standard Pioneer system that comes w/ the xb 2006 when bought at base price? It does support WMA & MP3, but i don't know if it will recognize a DVD since it's not a dvd player.

no, there are few decks out there that support mp3s burned to dvd media. I know jvc had one for a while, not one hundred percent sure who has one now a days, but for sure a stock deck won't play, sorry to burst your bubble
