The unavailability of the 16" stock alloy wheels has been the subject of much discussion on scionlife in the last month or two.

My wife has had her xD for about a month, but the 16" alloys had to be backordered, a huge disappointment. Just got a call from the dealer that they're in, and we'll get them installed in a day or two. Can't wait!

These are the straight 5-spoke ones that surfaced in some Scion videos, not the Enkeis with curved 5 spokes, right?

I really like the straight 5-spoke design...

I haven't seen them yet, so can't answer. I'm slipping out this afternoon to see them and have them installed. I'll get back with you tonight..........:-)

Yup, these are the real xD alloys. Congrats!

You know, it's funny. I really intensely dislike hubcaps and had real trouble adjusting to their look on this car. Now that I am used to them, I'm having trouble adapting to the alloys.

My wife has no such cares- she hardly even notices...............< jeez >
But she does love her xD. I'm hardly ever allowed to drive it!

It's ok. My girlfriend didn't notice the lip kit on the xD when she got back from a biz trip tonight, at least she notices the wheels now and learned to dislike incorrect offset on riceburners around town :)

I like the 5 "split spoke" hubcaps that come on the xD/xB2 - these are the ones I had on my car for about a day before getting alloys. They looked perfectly adequate for the car.

Grats Rich! Someone finally has those mythical alloys. I didn't get them when I purchased my xD so they weren't part of the financing, but ordered them through the parts department 2 weeks later (when they mysteriously showed up on Scion.com for 2 days). I'm calling them tomorrow!

BTW, you should let your wife's xD always have the garage :)

What was the package moniker for the wheels...."SS"?

Not sure what you are referring to exactly, but there's no SS on the boxes. However, the part number is PT904-52083, aluminum wheel, if that helps.

Wow. The parts department contacted me this AM before I called them. My wheels are in too!

Yeah, that's the part number with which I ordered mine last month.

Great- I guess they are releasing them all at once. I think they're pretty good looking. Hope you like yours, too.

Hang in there- I'm guessing you'll see them soon. BTW, you may wish to look at my new post about these stock alloys (Coating scratched on alloys).

How much where they again?
I ordered mine through the parts department and was quoted $795. On the final invoice though, they were $696 for the four which is a price I've seen thrown around here in the forums. I was very pleased :D

I asked about them on Scion's online chat customer service and used the part number. She had information that they are in some of the distribution centers and dealers may not know about them yet. First time I've gotten any real info from customer service.

I'm looking for some 17"s with tires right now but at a decent price. Any good places to look online for them that'll fit the xD? Not so sure I want to get the 16" alloys or keep the 16"s at all.

www.edgeracing.com
www.victoriatire.com
www.wheelsnext.com

You can shop for whatever size you want but the 17"ers usually have the best prices out there. Happy shopping.

I *FINALLY* got my alloys installed yesterday. No scratches thank goodness. I had my stealer install snow tires that I purchased on to the steel wheels. Get this...I PROVIDED new TPMS sensors for the snow tires and a new TPMS computer (that I bought from someone on Cafe xD) to program the snow tire TPMS sensors to and asked how much it would cost to program. My stealer wanted $150.00!!! I told him he was crazy and asked why.

I told the guy "I've provided the tpms sensors and ID codes, your technician is going to plug in the Toyota Techstream and enter the codes into the computer, something that may take him at most 10 minutes, and you want $150.00?" He said YES!! Yet they only charged me $70.00 to mount and balance new tires on the steel wheels which actually involves labor. Wow!

I'll be finding another dealer to program the sensors.

Anywho...The wheels look great!
