The cover on the oil filter?
How do you get to the oil filter?
I took a look for future reference and it is covered by that plastic cover that really is all over the front end. Do you remove those few plugs (force them out?) and then remove it or just "push" it out of the way? What is the easiest way to get to the filter on the new xB?
Any help is appreciated!

Good question as I have pondered the same thing. I'm gonna try it with the cover on this weekend but it will be tough since this is the factory installed oil filter I'm taking off! Got a oil filter socket" and a long handle ratchet. It appears the plugs are not reusable that hold the cover on.

No they are!!!
I thought the same thing when I went to "explore". I popped one pin out and could not get it to go back in, it kept bending. But it's actually two pieces! Pop out the center rod, not the lock pins. It will come apart, trust me!
Then you have two pieces. Pop the normal pin into the hole, and then place the locking pin on top of that, it will lock back in as good as new! Tricky I know!
Hope that helps, but yeah, they are reusable!
I plan to start my own oil changes at least after the first one, as I am hoping the dealer won't put the filter on as tight as the factory. Therefor, once I need my 10,000 mile change hopefully the filter will come off easier. That's my plan!
