I was cleaning the sunroof on my '08 tC today when I noticed that the rollers that roll along the rails are full of goo, kinda looks like mayonnaise. Is that supposed to be just grease to keep the sunroof operating smoothly?

And no, I was not making sandwiches on top of the car.

simple answer... yes. but mine just looks like grease not necessarily mayonaise...

hmm the grease is just clumped up, wouldnt it be beneficial to spread it around, like on the rails and other moving parts?

Maybe it is bird poop

it is probably grease combined with you know dust and dirt. and opening and closing the sunroof has a tendency to you know...move it around so it might clump up some what.

but yeah, it would be good to respread and re-grease it once in a while.
