TEIN S-techs, Sportmax 501's and 195/50 15" Falken Ziex 512's
sorry about the cell phone pic, once i put batteries in my camera, ill post more pics when its clean. Install was super easy by "studying" the tech page. no problems so far since i put them in while i was at work. rears are a cake walk. the fronts weren't too bad but its all good. ride is a little bit softer so i noticed right away. love the way it looks.
thanks SL!
jallamas 10-08-2007, 11:32 PM About damn time! :lalala: Looks great!
John
MPG-Motoring 10-09-2007, 01:00 AM Looking good!
NCBOX 10-09-2007, 01:03 AM Now I got to do mine, I look like a SUV
firesquare 10-09-2007, 01:14 AM its not too hard. i just gotta get my own air compressor. i have air tools at the house. my jack stands went missing somewhere in my house. :-(
bB2NER 10-09-2007, 03:23 AM Nice choice going with the silver wheels. Remember to re-check the upper front center strut bolts. They sometimes come loose after the first couple hundred miles. Nice classic look!
BTW, did you add the rear spacers to match the fronts?
firesquare 10-09-2007, 03:39 AM yeah the OTG are on also. better pics come saturday or sunday
i heard a few clanks here and there. will check the strut mounts in a week or so. how long should i wait for an alignment? tires are a tad nosier then they were...
bB2NER 10-09-2007, 03:43 AM You could have the alignment checked but it shouldn't need one unless it starts pulling. I've swaped springs multiple times and have yet needed one.
If you are hearing clunks up front they are not tight enough. I had to add a second nut to keep mine tight. It will ruin the strut bearings if left alone. They literally get hammered to death.
firesquare 10-09-2007, 03:45 AM i only hear it not ooo often. ill tighten tomorrow morning then check it again next week.
so any ideas for strut tower bars???? does TEIN make any? maybe keep a theme going :-P
bB2NER 10-09-2007, 03:49 AM Not sure if Tein makes strut bars. I like my DC CS-2 one tho. Also have you thought about getting the progress rear bar. It will make a HUGH difference in handling.
Can't wait for the bigger pics cause I always wondered how my BCP would look on those wheels and now I know. Keep it up.
firesquare 10-09-2007, 03:54 AM the the funny reason why i chose silver 501's was because i was looking at my bB wheel covers (phone dial) and said they look awesome silver and clean so i went with the silver and that was my choice.
NC box lives down the road from me and he has them black. they look good too but too many cars have black wheels in town. plus BCP and silver wheels look good anyways :-)
i have other pictures of the car not lowered but thats for another thread.
bB2NER 10-09-2007, 04:03 AM Exactly right on the wheels. I like the way the silver contrasts the BCP. I'm sick to death of black/polished lip wheels on every tuner car I see.
firesquare 10-09-2007, 04:06 AM here is sort of a good pic with the test fit of my flares. the silver looks good here. of course better pics in the next coming days. its only Monday :-P

burstaneurysm 10-09-2007, 04:15 AM Looking good man.
bB2NER 10-09-2007, 04:17 AM No comment on the flairs unless you plan them to be BCP. :lalala:
firesquare 10-09-2007, 04:19 AM they have been painted but are sitting at a body shop. im waiting for the guy to give them to me but he painted them wrong a while back. 3Q2 instead of 3P2. Moron. so wait i still do and its been 2 months. im raiging hell tomorrow. i better have them by friday
bB2NER 10-09-2007, 04:23 AM I'm waiting for the guy to give them to me but he painted them wrong a while back. 3Q2 instead of 3P2. Moron. Agreed. what a doofus?
burstaneurysm 10-09-2007, 06:11 AM I really like the 501's Those might be replacing my TRDs next season.
bB2NER 10-09-2007, 06:16 AM I really like the 501's Those might be replacing my TRDs next season.X2 those exact wheels would go great on your camo toaster Ian!
JoMac 10-09-2007, 01:46 PM Lookin' good! I'm debating between those and the axis oldskools.
hotbox05 10-09-2007, 05:06 PM finally bud! :)
firesquare 10-09-2007, 11:09 PM even better news!! my Painted fender flares are done and i picked them up today. on my way to the zone or advance auto to pick up some tape of way to fasten them to the car.
better pics soon i promise!
bB2NER 10-10-2007, 07:40 AM Try to make some dummy caps to cover the mounting holes. It'd look like you drilled to mount em. Or did you have the mounting spots filled in?
firesquare 10-10-2007, 11:08 AM i got the flares used. they were already pre drilled and prepped to paint. i have some stainless steel bolts i can use. but the rears are gonna take time mounting. i can drill the holes in the car but i dont want too :nails:
aireck 10-10-2007, 11:26 AM if ya going to run these flares with those wheels ..add some spacers to the rear to bring it out some more.... so it could look even with the front..just a suggestion!!
firesquare 10-10-2007, 10:37 PM spacers are already on
SuperMario6582 10-10-2007, 10:44 PM looks good man.
bB2NER 10-11-2007, 01:44 AM What I'm suggesting is to NOT drill to mount. Only use the 2 sided 3M. Then attatch some of the cap screw covers over the mounting holes to make it look like you drilled them. A drop of clear silicone should hold the caps in place.
tohru 10-11-2007, 04:31 AM flares look good!

yeah i was going to do that. i got me a big roll of tape yesterday. flares are going on TODAY!!! how long does it take for the tape to "set" for before i can remove the green automotive tape?
bB2NER 10-12-2007, 05:49 AM I'd let the tape sit overnight after applying it to the flares. Then peel and stick em on. I'd prolly press on them every hour for the first day before you drive it. I'd hate to see one start coming off in the high speed wind the xB is capable of.
firesquare 10-19-2007, 03:16 AM sorry for the long long delay. i finally got a chance to take and post pics today. this is just with the rear flares mounted. working on the front soon. excuse the size. they look better anyway.

in one of the pics you see the tape, ive seice then removed the flare and re mounted it and let it sit longer. looks better now.
now i need an opinion from y'all
I'm ordering a replica Kenstyle kit sometime after February. i was wondering should i have the kit AND flares painted Black Sand pearl or run them all Black cherry pearl?
bB2NER 10-19-2007, 04:14 AM I'd keep everything BCP. Looks sic so far!!!
enzochan 10-19-2007, 09:21 AM Looks good w/o the flares man.
NCBOX 10-21-2007, 03:26 AM Yeah you got to do BCPbecause I claim the BSP kit and flares for my BCP
firesquare 10-21-2007, 12:35 PM haha ok no prob.
bB2NER 10-21-2007, 08:07 PM Don't worry. BCP on BCP looks finished.
