Default ok read the HID sticky and still have a few questions..

I have a 2008 tc and am lookin at HID options

i want the color of HID's like the higher end lexus and beemers have.. that light purplish super bright kind.

also, how easy are HID kits to install.. do you have to tap into your car's factory wiring or do they come with harnesses for the TC.

Do i need to worry about it melting my factory headlights?

Whats the best kit out there?

all the cars that come factory equiped with HID's run 4300k. depending on what kit you get its fairly easy and pretty much plug-n-play. You dont have to tap into your cars wiring. Im not too sure on the 08 projectors and how long they will handle HIDs but your oncomming drivers to have to worry about glare comming from your HID's even tho their in projectors. The output will decrease since putting HID's a bit. Many of the HID owners on here bought them from the classifieds im guessing from a sponsored sale. Some others should chime in pretty soon.

Doesnt your output improve with 4300K HIDs?

4300K is also a very bright white color. There might be small hints of blue or purple but nothing really pronounced. Its really just a white

your putting the HIDs into a halogen projector which isnt made for HIDs which is why my friends 08 projectors with 5k lost some output on the sides. It really focuses straight up front.

I just spent a month doing a lot of looking around for HIDs for my 08.....bought mine yesturday.......most of the local guys use MobileHID who is on the site and offers a discount for his lights off of Scion Life.......
I can help you find it if you need....I chose 6000k......5000k is probably a whiter outbut light like the BMWs

You should not have any problems with his kit either........very simple.......he sends new harness with it........take out old bulbs......put in new bulbs.......mount ballst to the area by light......and plug in light to ballast......hook the neg wire on harness to neg on battery and pos to pos on battery.......this goes to the built in relay......from relay is final wire that goes into the originalwire that went into yourdrivers headlight from the stock harness.......

By doing this witha relay it takes the power from battery to ignite and run lights instead of through you electrical system which can cause problems in thelong term.

the guys kit is waterproof and shock proof.......he is beating on it with a hammer and the light never blinks.......and he has the best warrenty I could find......

Email me if you need the link........Brian

yeah 4300K is what you're wanting, as far as the "blueish tint" that you see on those luxury vehicles....that's just the light refracting off of the projector. so even halogen lights will look better because of the projector. 4300k should suit you but 6000k is sometimes more sexy just my opinion.

Just to clear things up. Lexus, bimmer, and other OEM HID out there do not use anything above 5000K. Most use 4300K, and some use 5000K. The hint of blue that you often see a light projection causing by the lenses of the projectors, not the bulbs. The Kelvin used are all white color, no blue.

in my opinion 5000k or 6000k look sexiest......anything past 6000k is questionable in my book, i had purchased 8000k hids, they didnt last a week on my car i could not stand them.......
anything below 4300k will have a yellowish tint to it i think 5000k is ideal, 6000k looks good, 4300k is best as far as light putput but i prefer the other 2
