hello, and shift boot question

hello, and shift boot question
New here, so: Hello.
There is no reason that I could not put a manual style leather shift boot and custom **** on an automatic shift console, is there? The "shift tree" is fairly straight forward, and the gear readout is on the dash. No buttons on the shift **** like with some automatics. As the almost-always primary driver I don't see that having to explain the absence of a clutch, or the shift layout will be that big an issue.
So....Does the auto **** come off the same way as on a manual? What is the easiest way to get the plastic covers off without buggering them up? I haven't even tried yet, just thought of it from looking at pictures of manual shift dash's. What are some good aftermarket sources for custom shift ***** and or boots, or what to look for in *****? Is there a standard or proprietary threading or are all the same the world of ***** over?

The **** just unscrews. The thread pattern is 8mm X 1.5. The plasitc panels just pop out.
I've been thinking about changing to a manual boot also. I think it'll have to be custom made to fit the angle. I already shortened my shifter because it kept getting in the way. I just ordered a new **** that doesn't need threading because I don't have threads anymore.

could have possibly bent it rearward and it might have been tall enough for a boot.
This outfit will make any boot, any color relatively cheap. Name is Maciek.
