Hey anyone hear of 1/8" landau top foam?? Sorry if i sound like a newb. But i am wanting some of this and dont know where i should get it from,
I am doing foam inlays in my car

Not that specifically, no. Is this part of an upholstery project? If it is, you can get foam of various thickness and density at most fabric stores.

yeah i want to put inlays under the suede im putting in my car.
I saw randode use the landau foam, its the type of foam where you have to shape it to your desire.
asked him where he buys it from but no answer yet

You can use dynamat or even thick pieces of vinyl.

You could even use scrap pieces of your suede...

yeah i dont think that the scrap suede would work. Its far to thin and to unstable.
im looking for the stability of that foam and easially shaped. Im going to stop by this foam shop by my work and see if the have any there.

If you are doing it on flat surfaces, use masonite. Much better edges. Takes a little more work to cut and finish, but looks alot better. Or call your local upholstery shops, they usually stock it, especially if they are a custom shop. And it's called close cell foam.

Wood?? yeah that would be a good idea as well.
I just picked up two yards of 3/16" landau top foam.
Im doing inlays on my pillars and headliner and were ever else i want it.
wood would work too but i am using suede that is hard to stretch and put into place. I think the give in the foam will help with that.

not sure exactly, drawing and art arent my strong points,
Was just goin to google something and have one of my friends sketch it out.
On my A-pillars im going to inlay my screen name for some practice
