The Miata is my other ride. Carbon fiber hard top (12lbs), carbon fiber trunk (2 lbs), gutted interior, no a/c or p/s, Toyo RA-1's, shaved head .50, ported and polished etc...

I just had a crank failure on it so I am planning on a 13b swap into it. And my RX-7 had just got totaled.

I use Turtle wax and my friend uses DuPont wax with teflon. The DuPont beads water really good.

Hope you're will to either modify the trans tunnel or use a dry sump system with a custom front cross member. The center of the crank on a rotary is in the center of the engine, as opposed to the piston engine, which is at the bottom. The rotary is smaller than the Miata engine but the crank center is still 6 inches north of where it's expected to be. Consider a Monster Miata swap. It's actually easier.

A rotary engine has no crank shaft. But people have got a 13b to fit by flipping the oil pan around. I plan on modifying the cross member to get a few inches of cleareance.

Everyone is doing 302 swap into a Miata and I am a rotarhead. Nothing sounds sweeter than a P-port rotary.
