I'm hoping this is not a repeat post, b/c my problem is quite specific... and I haven't seen any recent posts in the past few months about this topic.
Here's my situation: I'm a Canadian resident in Vancouver and want to import a brand new Scion tC from the US. I will go as far as Oregon to purchase the car (which could work out even better cuz of no State tax) but of course, WA is the obvious choice.
I'm currently coming across a few problems:
1) I cannot find a dealership that will sell a tC to a Canadian. I've called Scion dealerships, everywhere from Bellingham to Portland, and have had no luck.
2) I am looking at buying a 07 Scion tC in a private sale, either already imported or requires me to do the importing work. Either way is not a problem. But I've heard that Toyota Canada will not honour the warranty.
Can anyone recommend US dealerships that will still allow Canadians to buy new vehicles?
And are there any experienced Scion importers in Vancouver who might be able to shed some details about the warranty situation?
Would anyone recommend getting an auto broker instead?
Thanks in advance!
