Default thank you scion tC

I was driving home, on a 45mph road coming through a major intersection at about 45. There was a lady in the turning lane facing me waiting to turn across where i was going to be driving. The light turned yellow, i had planty of time to get thru, but she just HAD to make the turn before she was stuck there for another red light so she decides to go, I couldnt believe it and SLAMMED on my brakes and for some reason so did she,

Everything in my car went flying to the front of the car, my anti lock brakes went into action and I stopped about 2 feet from plowing in to her passenger side where a young girl was sitting. She would have had a permenant Scion Logo on her ARM if I braked a split second later.

If i had my blazer she would just be dead.

So anyways, id just like to say that the great braking of the scion tC saved me from a crash, WOOT WOO!

glad everyones ok...but u do know that its ur fault if u hit her right...? just to let everyone know, on those yield intersectections.. once it turns YELLOW the turning car now has the right of way instead of the one going straight, so just to let everyone know.

but neweiz glad ABS works, eventhough i dont know how they work...

also, it really proves the point that ANYONE can get in a crash.. This lady clearly did not see me coming because there is no way anyone in their right mind would have done what she did.

Its not you, its the crazy idiot/drunk person tahts gonna hit you.. you will never see it coming, just be sure you have your belt on.. a safe car, and

i really think im gonna start wearing a helmet.. why not right?? race drivers wear them and that is a much more safe place to drive!

i beg to differ tho. that may be so, but it'll be quite hard to prove, once to cops arrive, the he in fact ran a red light. a person making a left has the LEAST right of way in most cases, this being one of them. she would be ticketed for "failure to yield".

She's a moron for pulling that move with someone, child or not, sitting the passenger seat.

And uh, what did your brakes do when the ABS came on? I get the feeling mine are busted so that they come on at random. But I don't know if it's the ABS or if my brakes are ____ed up.

I havent noticed my abs yet, i've had to go from 65-0mph when a deer was in the road (actually bumped the deer but not hard enough to do damage) and the wheels squeeled, but i dont think i was in a complete slide. i imagine the abs engaged then but i couldnt hear or feel a huge difference.. In my cavalier if you hydroplane or hit ice when braking the abs kicks in and it sounds HORRIBLE..a bunch of alternating clicks/grinds from the left to right wheel...but they work.. i'm thinking it's a bit different though since the tC has the electronic braking distribution feature..not sure how that works though..

anyways, good thing it stopped in time.

They didnt come on until near the end of my stopping when i had the pedal all the way as hard as i could. it was mabey just 5 little clicks.

but yea, right of way or not, if a car is coming at you doing 45mph, dont drive in front of it!!!

Yeah, I was in an accident because of a similar situation -- i was in the passenger seat though and my mom was driving -- unfortunately the brakes in the Jeep didn't work so well or we were just going too fast but it was considered failure to yield on the other person

Well see it wasn't at an intersection, it was street with speed limit 40mph, and where you have to wait to make a left turn in the middle lane-- well it was an old guy driving and he decided to make the left turn seriously going like 3mph in front of my mom-- she was going 45, so slightly above speed limit but, still this guy was going so slow that even with braking we still hit the front passenger side of his car.............

ABS doesnt help you out in dry condition...........

if u are braking that hard to lock your wheels you should let go the pedal just a little bit to get the grip...
