isn't that kinda dangerous though having that tap sensor thing to unlock your door?...so anyone can come up to your car and knock on that sensor to unlock your car?

i still dont get how the knock knock thing works

RodC
10-24-2007, 11:43 PM
You can figure it out by looking at it. It rotates through different numbers, and when it lands on the number you wish to select, you knock on the glass. It records your number and moves on to the next one, repeat 4 times.

andino
10-25-2007, 12:24 AM

Butane
10-25-2007, 12:40 AM
what happens if you get the code wrong?

SWTCKID
10-25-2007, 12:43 AM
ok so this is how the knock knock wors..basically its like your locker combo in highschool..you program a 4 digit combo which is very easy to do..then when the light blinks above your number you knock..if you get the code wrong idk wat happens i will try it

Butane
10-25-2007, 12:47 AM
I would really hope that it pages you or something because a 4 digit code could be cracked very easily

Viace
10-25-2007, 12:52 AM
Jealous very!!!!!!!!!!!!

SWTCKID
10-25-2007, 01:29 AM
so yes i tried getting the code wrong and it does page you while the code is in progress..it pages you even if the code is right so no worries..and if your scared of it being cracked don't be because you have the choice to program the knock knock or not..there is only a certain amount of times you can try your code also before it dsnt allow you to anymore i got to 3 and ddnt wnt to go any farther because i was scared haha

SWTCKID

haha ya i changed my code just to make the video it takes about a minute to change your code you just need your keys, know how to do it, and a combo...yes you can have your windows roll down and if you have a turbo it also has a turbo timer option not too sure how it works but yes all thait is available

What's to stop someone from just knocking on your window and knocking themselves?
if somone is knocking on it when you not there it pages you the second they try puttin in a code..and if they just start knocking and its too hard the alarm will do 4 warning beeps and it also pages you saying shock weak..now if they hit it like a knock on a door then your alarm goes off and you are paged as well

BoiseAuctioneer
10-26-2007, 05:06 PM

Hey, could you check out something on the turbo timer function?
I've heard that with other turbo timers, you can start the timer, leave the car, lock it, but then when the engine shuts off, the door automatically unlock.

Could you do me a favor and arm the system with the doors locked and engine running, and then see what happens when the engine shuts off?

when the engine shuts off the doors remain locked

Mr_Meaty

NICE! Now is this when you shut off the engine remotely, or is this when the engine shuts down automatically after a certain time? And can you set the time for how long before it shuts off?

Mr Meaty -- From what I researched the doors DO NOT unlock when using the turbo timer. U can also set the duration from 30sec to 2min

Thanks Alex at 180tuning, my alarm is great.
Tony helped out with my installation; he referred me to his shop where they gave me a small Scion discount.

From my dorm room, I can arm/disarm the system and remote start my car so it's cool or warm by the time I get there. Trust me, I don't park right outside my window (well, maybe on a lucky day).

I tested out the shock sensor, it's pretty nifty. It can sense between a weak shock and a strong shock, and the system will page your OLED to tell you what happened. The shock sensor is also adjustable, so you can differentiate weak/strong the way you like it.

There are just way too many features to list here, but any questions are welcome.
Don't mean to threadjack or anythin with my input Tony, just helpin out the cause :)

there is something called key by pass unit.
our alarm works with universal by-pass unit
you don't need any of valet key thing

so if you hook up the remote start by itself it wont work unless you get the bypass unit. Does this bypass unit allow someone who is trying to steal your car allow them to start it without the key since its being bypassed?

180tuning
11-15-2007, 08:08 PM
the by pass unit is only for remote start so if you have a copied key without the chip then it wont work

rvpps2rocks
11-15-2007, 08:28 PM
but for the remote start doesnt it need to see the module in the key to start the car. so if you wanna do remote start period with this alarm you need the bypass unit?

For my xA, when I press Unlock, all 4 doors open up. I think.

Let me check on that when I go out to my car a little bit later, I'll let you know.

yeah all i need is the exact size template to get these goin so someone hit me up!

white ones would take a bit of work just because you would have to flip the contrasting colors...i the white with grey i was working on was kinda cool....keep in mind you could do combinations of colors as well!

Does anyone know a good reliable shop in NYC that'll do the installation? I haven't been able to find any near my college campus, so I'll have to wait until I get back to the city.

Can't say I'm of any help for you, solyd, but any shop that has had experience installing alarms should be able to install this one just fine. Good luck finding one! You'll love the alarm.

Jiggaman, I'll measure the diameter of the sticker when I get a chance.

Yeah, but one that has experience working with this specific alarm or Scion tC's would be better. If anyone knows a good shop in NYC, let me know :) Thanks.

Ok, a few questions:

1) If I have a Greddy Turbo Timer, can this work in conjuction with it? Or would it be better to remove the unit?

2) If I have Scion Security, would it be possible to remove that and sell it, and use this alarm instead?

Tony, your car's coming along nicely since I first saw you way back when near Fullerton College!

The Zenesis alarm does the same exact thing you just described.
On top of that, it pages you whether it was a "weak bump" or a "strong bump," and you can set how sensitive you want weak/strong to be.

Just wondering if anyone else who got this installed on their TC is having issues with the remote start. My needles move like the car is about to start but nothing happens after that. Was there any other equimpment needed? the shop is saying they can bypass the immobilizer but they need the spare key to be mounted somewhere in the car. Any help would be appreciated.

What type of door lock system does the tC have? I am reading the manual and it has: normal negative and positive, one way negative and positive, reverse polarity, and vacuum...
