ive got a silver tc and i was wondering if painting the hood black would look good. Are there any pics of a silver tc with a painted black hood on this forum? I tried searching but found nothing.

 

just get a cf one dude.. its lighter and imo if you painted the hood black it would look ... ricer.. i'm sorry

 

Maybe if you paint the hatch to match it'd work.

black and cf put off the same look it would just be easier to buy the cf hood and there fore you have a spare!

 

Buy a carbon fiber hood. It will be a better mod for your car in the long run.

 

Ok im sorry, thats your opinion but i have never used carbon fiber hoods, trunks/hatches, spoilers anything carbon fiber because TOO many ricers use them and it just looks cheap.

 

I would think that it would look like you got a used black hood on a silver car that you never got around to paint after it had gotten damaged.

 

yeah, the reason why race cars had black hoods i have read somewhere was because race teams would open and close the hood so frequently to work on the engine, they just painted the hood black to make all the greasy and oily fingerprints less obvious or something.

 

painting a hood would look bad as it would look like you just stole that hood from another car..

with at least a CF hood.. people will actually understand why the hood is that color.

This is one of those opinion questions where all responses are based on personal pref. I personally don't like the half done look that a black on silver hood would create, and as a matter of fact, I don't really like black CF on any other color except black for the same reason. Hence, the reason why I didn't get a hood until I lucked into one where the kevlar was dyed the color of my car.
