Default Opinion on the AVIC-D3

Well as the heading states im thinking about upgrading to the AVIC-D3, what do you guys think, this is what i have in my car at the moment:

Pioneer DEH-P980BT Head Unit, PAC SWI-PS Steering Wheel Interface, Pioneer In Dash Ipod Adaptor, Pioneer TS-C160R Components (Front), Pioneer TS-D161R 2-Way Coaxials (Rear) Powered by Pioneer GM-6300F 600W 4CH Amplifier.

Custom 10" FB Sub Side Enclosures that is currently Under construction, it will be
(2) Pioneer TS-W257D2 10in. Subwoofers.
Pioneer GM-7300M 800W Amplifier – (For Subs).

*So if i do go ahead w/ the Avic-D3, becides the unit itself what are the other accessories i should get

I honestly reccomend the D2 over it. I have said it other times and still believbe it. if you use the navi alot, the D2 is better.
If you just getting it to have a cool headunit, then the D3 is better because of playing DVDS.

I love my D3. What I do is leave the Nav disc in the headunit and just play the movie through my PS2 that is hooked up to it.

love my d3. though it does come up short (1 drive, navi a bit clumsy at first) i still love it. the integration with ipod is awesome. i do wish though that it had better sound shaping settings anda higher preamp voltage out...

honestly, if you really really need a nav then go for it, but with that headunit you have now, you will have alot cleaner sound than if you go with the d3. coming from an older 8600 deck, i really miss all the sound setting stuff. dont get me wrong, the d3 sounds great, but you will have to sacrifice a little bit of clarity for a feature set.
