Default Shifting the Auto Information

I was bored yesterday so I went exploring in my car. I've been wondering for months if there was a way to make a mod so I could shift, when in sequential mode, without using the shifter. I still don't have that answer but I did find the wiring so I thought I'd share to save everyone else the trouble.

If you remove the lower cover of the console (the one with the power plug), you'll see a white connector a little below the shifter. It has red, blue, green, orange, and black wires in a blue sheath and two green wires in a black sheath on the passenger side. Coming out on the drivers side it's red, white and blue. The black/orange combo controls the upshift. The black/green combo controls the downshift. I actually started the car, put it in sequential mode, and jumped the wires to test it and it worked beautifully.

Sorry, no pics. The lower dash piece is removed by pulling straight towards the rear of the car. There are six of the flat style fasteners holding it in place.

Sorry, no '08 plates.

The Rumion has optional paddle shifters. With chadfo's discovery it certainly sounds like there would be a possibility of doing a mod to add the Rumion paddle shifters to the xB.
