this weekend i plan on replacing my stock struts, shocks and goldline springs (which are for sale if anyone is interested) with the ksport kontrol coilover kit. now i am familiar with the xa/xb suspension, i have done two spring installs, but i would like to know what size sockets i will need for the nuts and bolts for the front struts and rear shocks and any other additional tools needed for the install, all of my tolls were lost in a fire a few months ago so i need to get some new ones.

also, anyone riding the ksports, whats settings did you adjust your dampening to for a comfortable yet tight ride?

Sockets:
- 10mm: You'll need it anyway. Just get it. Just about every small nut/bolt on the car is 10mm.
- 12mm: Nuts holding top hat to strut tower.
- 14mm: Bolt/nut holding brake line to strut.
- 17mm: Nut that holds the top hat to the strut
- 19mm: Bolts that hold the strut to the knuckle

I'd rent a set of spring compressors as well, big help in getting those stock struts apart without having the top hat and other misc. pieces fly everywhere.

Overall, coilover installation is pretty easy. Easier than doing a set of springs, that's for sure.

i wouldnt have to worry about getting a spring compressor if im gonna be taking off the whole front strut itself since im not disassembling the strut to take off the springs, rite?

You still need to use the top hat off of the strut, as well as the dust shield, and the 17mm nut. All of which require disassembly of the strut.

Unless the K-sports come with all of this.

With the K-sports you don't need the stock top hat, or the dust seal.

All you have to do is remove the whole oem strut with spring, and slip in the K-sport coilovers.

The back is so freaking easy. All together it should take you about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, just taking it easy.

I had them for about 6 months, and they were a awsome ride. I left the dampening the same way they came from the box, and they rode pretty stiff which I liked it that way. Then I just adjusted the ride height.

^^^^hes right. The front is one piece. No need to take top hat off. I have my dampening set on soft. I tried it all the way to stiff, but the ride was too harsh for me.

Oh, and one other thing you may need to know. After the front struts are installed, the dampening adjustment tool will not be able to access the strut because the cowl is in the way (where the windshield wipers sit). So you either want to have the adjustment tool always in there or get yourself a long allen wrench that is the same size.
