A little reflective fun here, since this woman stole our slogan for her line of work on her big FUV, I had to slide my Scion plate into the mix. In the drivethru at In & Out:

now everyone know why we refer to Mark as "Nor*Cal Scions' photographer". If there are ever pics of a Nor*Cal event that you'd like to see, don't look at mine, look at Mark's. He takes really good pics, and has an equally clean ride. I knew I should have kept those Maglites!

Nice shots, fresh box. I'm feeling the black door handles. They're subtle, which is nice.

Your probably the first person to point those out in a pic. 8) They're actually CF overlays and they give a nice thick, kinda 3-D look to the door handles, IMO. Probably one of my favorite mods, + they made Squirrel say the phrase everyone else says when around his ride "Damn, I need those" 8) :D Got those from Paul at allscion.com

Tell us about the signal mirrors. Where from? How much? How big a pain to install?

hehehe, those cost me $30 bucks, they are adhesive backed. I just couldn't see paying $250 or more for the JDM covers which I think look awful on the mirror side - you get a double rim. I got them off eBay, the package says their website is www.pilotautomotive.com, but I can't find them on their site.

They are pretty easy to put on, altho I didn't bend the drivers one enough beforehand and it wants to peel a little. You still have to take the mirrors off and run the wiring. I wrapped the lights to the edge of the mirror housing so the wire was less noticable, also makes them blink more towards the other lanes instead of just in front. Now I just gotta smoke em to match the others...

Thanks to everyone for all the great comments. It's always nice to hear positive feedback. I grew up fixing my own cars, but not fixing them up. This is my first venture into modding. It wasn't intentional, I was just replacing the Echo, whose lease was running out. Little did I know, I was prepping myself to drive a Scion. I built it online, followed a link to Scion World and from there to here at SL. Once I got here, I put dibs on an upper bunk, grabbed a corner barstool and made myself at home. The rest is history...

you know what I was thinking, some nice headlight overlays would just make this box so intense, like a dark overlay to match your tails...

just a thought...but im sure you have already thought about that...

Nice pics, and I like the wheels. Also, where did you run the wires for the signals? (Maybe you said, but I am way too tired to look again to see if I missed that...)

They wrap around the outer edge of the mirror, thru the inside of the mirror housing and down thru the bracket and harness where the mirror wiring goes. From the door thru to the fenders and spliced into the sidemarkers. It wasn't too difficult except I stripped the head on one of the screws and had to buy an ez-out...

You better NOT be feeling my wheels! Between having to let the valet park it once this week and taking it in for some service, there's been too many strange hands on my Box already...

I'm not sweating it, they're still MY favorites.

Frgive me for being so picky, but I agree, i think its due to that blue reflection on the left side of the hood that goes up over the roof. Toning that down a bit might help. Same with the blue water through the front windshield. Also, is it just me or is the left side of the post on the left a little too perfect of an edge?

TheScionicMan

Haha, you guys are comical. I spent 5 minutes playing for SL, when I post stuff up on my photo website, I spend hours tweaking these things for all the little details. Those people care about all the little things, most pics on SL are in someones driveway, anyway.

The flaws may be useful, look at how long you stared at it. hehehe:wink: I actually played with desaturating the water seen thru the window, but it didn't look right. I did miss a patch of water by the hood.

BTW, most bridge engineers like their structures to remain standing, that's why they build the towers STRAIGHT... Do I need to post up some establishing shots to prove its authenticity? Good Grief, everyone's such a skeptic... :o

Yeah Mark, I've really liked how you have taken the camo with your darker cues. It has really come together. Yet, I know there is more on the way. You going to KK on Friday? Hope so!

Good grief sorry for trying to help with a little constructive criticism. Im sorry if i cant share the same jubilation towards an idea thats been done 1,000 times and takes a total of 5 minutes to pull off in photoshop. Maybe you should have spent 6 minutes and learned how to adjust the hue alongside the saturation to make it consistent.

Wow, I guess I've been skooled...

I was referring to the comments like it's pasted in and that the post is too straight. It is a much too common comment - "looks fake". There was a simple picture of the rear of a bB recently and people spent many posts picking out possible photoshop flaws when it was just a simple un-altered snapshot.

The amount of effort depends on the audience. I wasn't posting these to say "check out what a great photographer I am", it was for "Check out my Box".

Doesn't matter if they dont "feel" the wheels.
You bought them, go well with the car. I bet they spin nice. 8)
