Body Painting
There is one rule that applies to most things in life and it holds true here- You get what you pay for.
Earl shieb and Maaco aren't going to give you factory paint jobs. Factory paint jobs cost some loot, a few grand. It's all about the prep, and labor is expensive. If you want a really good job it's going to involve removing the glass, trim, etc and that adds up. Also do quality paints, look for shops using quality lines like Dupont, PPG, Sikkens, etc. Look at their booth and see if they are running a clean operation, and like posted above, check out the other jobs coming out of the shop and what the employees are driving.

Oh... I do, I do! If you’re close to the Los Angeles area, please look up MOBWorks. I've recently painted my BSP tC to an undisclosed color. From what I can tell, they did an outstanding job. Feel free to look them up on the Internet at www.MOBWorks.com. Moreover, Miguel, the owner, is great to deal with.

one word....
www.smooth-creations.com
he specializes in PC Cases (my Falcon Northwest case is custom painted by him in $350/pint Ocean shifting paint with personalized designs) but he's got over 15 years of automotive experience, and paints pretty much anything (snowboards, helmets, motorcycle panels, keyboards, mice, monitors) if you're willing to pay the premium and live near him there's no better place to go... but plan to spend at least a grand on a paint scheme.... probably a few grand.... I have 9 various coats and clear coats on just my PC case, so doing your car can get real expensive, real fast... but it'll be the last paintjob you ever get... and the best you've probably ever seen, or will see.
Other than that, ask your dealer if they know a good shop, ask around, ask different dealers, friends, go to some car mod meets and ask around.... etc
but me, if I was to get it painted I'd have Smooth do it for me, there's nothing better than the best.
EDIT: saw on www.falcon-nw.com they had a comparison pic of a Dodge Viper and their PC case painted in full Ocean costing $9000 (at $350/pint mind you) on the car - head over to www.falcon-nw.com and click on "View Our Exotix" and check out some of his work on PC cases just for kicks. - or click here http://www.falcon-nw.com/WebGallery/index.htm
