about 3-4 years ago i remember seeing some wheels that had an adapter plate that bolted to the stock lugs, and then the wheel was held on with one big nut in the center...like an indy car

i just remembered these the other day, and i can remember what company made them, anyone on here have an idea?

Another version is "spline drive" which is I believe what Ferrari uses. I think Ferrari wheels are manufactured by Speedline in Italy?

I think you're talking about Toora wheels (http://www.erebunicorp.com/wheels.htm).

They just used a set of Gold Spokes on Pimp My Ride that had knock-offs. Pretty trick until someone nabs them with no struggle... :?

so do you want them or what? its probably cheaper to go with a rim that has a lug cover that looks like it. I think tsw has some

New Porsche Carrera GT has them.
The Porsche Carrera Cup cars have them too, along with air jacks. About 6-7 years ago I was at Watkins Glen when two collectors had just gotten theirs. They came with a big socket and torque wrench to get the nuts on and off. And it was really cool to see them hook the air hose to the fitting on the hood and have the air jacks come down and lift the car up.

I don't know of any manufacturer other than Toora who makes real single-nut retrofit wheels in a "racing" style (not wires.)

The TSW and Motegis just have covers over the lugs. The Tooras and those Porsche wheels have only one nut.

the reasion why they called 'em knock offs id because all you need is like a big wrench or a big rubber mallet to spin the lug off

its cold enought outside to freeze the balls off a brass monkey

if anyone knows what a brass monkey is

i do:D

A brass monkey was a brass plate that kept the bottom stack of cannon balls from rolling about. Thing is that brass contracts much faster in cold weather than iron so if the temps dropped too much the layer of cannon balls would roll off. It's also a mixed drink that Eazy-E rapped about.

i remember seeing on some tv show that west coast customs was trying to find new wheels for some rich person's ferrari enzo and they had a hard time doing it because the enzo's wheels are one lug. i think they had to have some custom wheels made for it.

TSW did a limited run of "Pin-Drive" Xenons that were, in fact, center-lock 1 nut wheels. They were, IIRC, 2000 per set and they only made a few hundred sets.

The drink is made by starting with a full 40 oz. malt liquor (usually Olde English 800) and drinking it down to the top of the label. You then add 2oz of Southern Comfort and fill the remaining space with orange juice.
