Default 18" rims crack too easily!

Anyone else have this issue? I've fixed two rims already, bought 3 new tires in the past 6 months....

maybe its just Long Island's crappy roads!

could be how thick your tires are. are you getting 45, 40, 35 profiles? i would stick with at least 40 profile tires for 18in daily driving. the pot holes will do it also. and could depend on the quality of your rims.

what kind of wheels were u using? the roads in LI aren't good to begin with. if u have a softer wheel, then u're basically screwed.

Could be the wheels themselves. My friends has had to replace his rims 4 times i think because they were so weak. Mine have lasted so far all year, and I've hit some nasty pot holes, one hole I was almost 100% that I bent the rim but nope. Nothing yet. Could be the strength of the rim itself.

Brand?
I've (unfortunately) hit those metal construction plates with my 19"s hard enough to lift me out of my seat but haven't damaged a rim yet.
Only thing thats happened is a nick on the rim guard of the tire itself.
