Default Pedestal v. Rear Lip Spoiler

I can't decide if I want the pedestal or the rear lip spoiler for my tC. Both look really good, but some days I like the pedestal and then other days I think just the rear lip spoiler looks cleaner.

I've observed that more of the "cleaner" cars on SL have either no spoiler or the rear lip spoiler and that not many heavily modified tC's have the pedistal. A lot of tC's I've seen with the pedistal have no lip kit and no drop which looks like crap to me. I plan on going OEM lip kit and an H Tech drop so that won't be a problem for me.

Just wanted to hear some opinions. Pictures are welcome if you want to try and sway me either way. I don't want this to be a "post your spoiler thread" though, we already have one of those. Just really wanted to hear reasons WHY people chose what they have for their tC.

I have the lip spoiler. When I first got the car, i thought the pedestal was too big for the car since our back was really short due to the car being a "hatch-back."

You don't need a spoiler for a FWD.

I'm aware of that, I want it for styling, not for functionality.

In that case, I'll go with the lip.

eh... i like it. it really just stems back to personal preference. some think its obnoxious but i dont mind. the only thing... it creates a problem spot when washing your car.

if i could go back to the dealership the day i bought it, id go sans spoiler and every other option i got, and gotten the supercharger instead.

I heard that the pedestal spoiler makes your hatch extremely heavy and puts quite a lot of stress on the dampers when it's open. I've even heard stories where it's actually weakened them so much, the hatch doesn't stay open for some people anymore. I can imagine that it's a tad more difficult to wash too.

Personally, I would save my money for something else just because tC's look nice without them. However, lip spoilers are nice, clean, and stay within the body lines-a nice compliment to the tC.

rear lip is good, not really that noticeable, so unless you got spare change, I wouldn't bother. But I definitely do not like the pedestal spoiler

the pedestal spoiler makes the hatch a little heavier and when washing the car its a pain when drying. but other than that, no problems!

Rear Lip worked for me!!!

I used to hate the Ped. Spoiler. But with the right kit AND wheels with the right offset, it can look good.

i have a lip spoiler, its a nice subtle touch. the pedestal spoiler looks too bulky and chunky imho.
