Check it out. 300+ horseys with 250+ lbs ft of torque. Am I really finding myself wanting a Hyundai?

This is going to be one sick car. Base model is going to start at just under $20K for a 2.0L Turbo 4 with a 6speed and near 50/50 weight distribution. I'm just really glad that someone is building an affordable rwd coupe other than the Ford Mustang. I think this is going to be the best performance value of this decade, I'll definitly be checking this car out.....and possibly tradeing up for it.

Turbo 4 and v6 backed by either 6spd manual or auto are a go. No v8 in this car's future. Will be on sale sometime in fall 08.

if it does sell for about 20 grand, it isn't going to actually look like that at all.

How long before I can test drive the model....(or is that an accessory that wont come with the car?)

As long as the production model looks like that, or very close, I'd get it for a new daily driver. But my guess would be they water it down when it hits sales.

Toyota won't do a darn thing. They'll compete with it with the next gen tC which will have about an extra 300lbs, 5hp increase over the previous model and most important... 65-35 f/r weight distribution FWD car. LOL!

well the only hope toyota has is the revival of the great supra MKV

Yeah, a $70,000 car certainly will give Toyota respect.

The reason why the EVO and the WRX were such kick arse cars is that many more can afford a $25K - $35K car rather than a $70K. MK4 Supra sold for about $54K in 1998. A near 10 year inflation... $70K easily.

I lost all faith on Toyota. If a Korean company is going to cater to the masses of enthusiasts... I'm quite disappointed in Toyota.

I can see it now, 2009 Scion tC, 500lb weight gain and a whopping 165hp engine, up 5 from 160hp.

Did anyone see the actual production model? Just looks like your run of the mill hyundai, some guy posted a link in one of the posts above mine. Truthfully it's not impressive, I'm really ____ed cause that concept is almost a PERFECT looking car.

Production version. It'll be revealed at the NY Autoshow in April.
