Default WATER LEAKING FROM WHERE?

Weird thing-I get a water puddle sometimes on the ground about 8-12 inches in from the body and about even with the back of the front tire on the passenger tire. All my fluids are fine-never low and the puddle doesn't have any smell.

I am guessing that it is collected water from somewhere-like run off from the windshield or blowing through the grill (I have a very open aluminum upper grill) but just wanted to see if anybody else has noticed this and found it to be a problem.

I get it even when there isn't much moisture (like rain) and the puddle on dry ground is anywhere from 6-24 inches across.

Just about all cars do that - I wasn't too crazy about the tube draining right on the right suspension frame arm but yeah it is the moisture removed from the air which condenses in the A/C evaporator coil. Nothing to worry about unless the drain gets blocked and then it ends up on the floor inside the car.

I still get this even when the AC isn't on-so i am guessing that is collects whatever water or vapor there is whether it's from the windshield, engine, hood, etc-right?

the A/C in most cars runs some even in heatng positions...indeed many run any time the system is on at all.

I don't think so - more likely if you have it in the defrost position venting to the windshield it is running so keep if off that position - it only pumps the A/C compressor if the fan is on so on highway trips you can keep the fan turned off and still be able to vent to the windshield. Also turn off the A/C button a few minutes before you stop the car but keep the fan running and it will give the water a chance to drain and the condenser to de-ice and dry off before you stop. Helps to prevent corrosion in there as well.
