Interior Wiring question
Hiyo,
Am seriously considering a DIY power outlet install, and am now wondering where I might tap into a power source. Where would a powered (while vehicle is off) wire be found? Running along one of the sides? Maybe down the middle? Hopefully not overhead...
Probably looking to do one behind the center panel and one along one side of the rear cargo area. One up front is just not gonna cut it
Thanks!

Buy yourself a cigarette plug style powerinverter
that has the outlet plugs. that way it will run 12v
and not suck your battery. modify it to fit as you like
you wont need to Tap, just use an add a fuse available
at your local autozone. put that into the fuse spot that
powers the dome light, it constantly has power to it.
then just ground it, and your set!
I was gonna do the same thing I just havent cause I'm
to lazy too. I will soon though.

I also want at least a second cigarette lighter outlet too. (Not that I smoke.) Radio Shack has the outlets with wiring and a fuse too.
I figure you could probably just tap into the existing lighter wiring. I was going to pop out the square that is to the right of the shifter. (The same size as the hazard light button.) I may have to dremmel out the button hole a little bit to make it fit.
I have a radar detector with the mute button right on the cig. lighter plug and hate having to reach all the way down below the cup holders to mute the detector.
