Default will 03/04 chrome tail lights fit 05 xB?

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and my xB and have a question about tail lights. Does anyone know if the aftermarket chrome altezza 03/04 tail lights will also fit the 05 xB? I've been waiting for the APC retro tails to come on the scene, but so far it's all just a tease it seems, and I'm getting a bit impatient. Would appreciate any help anyone can give me on this or if anyone knows of any other chrome tails out there for the xB.

Thanks!

Auroara

As far as I know the Basic Design for the XB was not changed from 04 to 05. They only made a changed as far as the Radio is concerned and maybe an adjustment on what the MPG really is...

So to answer your questions...Yes they should work just fine. My only questions is though are you talking about the Elgante TYC lights? Or are you talking about a different tail light?

Hope this helps... :D

Hi ikhonlord!

Aren't you a doll for responding so quickly, and so informed! I really am clueless in such matters, so very much appreciate your assistance. The tail lights in question are on ebay and listed only as new, 03/04 altezza tail lights Euro style. They are not the new TYC's that are available through the toyota/scion dealerships, that much I know. The company selling them is a HUGE operation and I haven't heard back re: the email I sent them yesterday. I believe someone else was selling the same style some time back on ebay and he indicated they would fit, but I have no way of knowing if it's exactly the same tail light. However, you sound like you are "in the know", and they appear to be shaped as the current tail lights on my 05 xB. They are at a reasonable enough price, that I think I will take the plunge after what you have indicated.

Thanks SO much!!

Are these the ones you are talking about? They should fit. Like he said, the basic design hasn't changed, just the CD player. You can always ask the seller if you are in doubt.

Hi to all that have replied thus far! Vanilla Rice, yes!! The link you posted to ebay show the tail lights in question and I have emailed the seller, but so far no reply. They are a huge company and I even tried calling them, but their sales peoples mailboxes are all full. Probably not a good sign, but I want these bad enough and the price is cheap enough that I'm willing to take a chance. Which is now far less of a "chance" thanks to all of you! :D

Thanks again to all of you for replying to this post, sharing your knowledge and your good advice. I think these are pretty cool and am only now just starting to trick out my Box. Having a hard time deciding on graphics. Does anyone know any cool sites for these, specific to xBs?

Thanks again all! Will let you know the outcome and post a pic when I get the tails.

Well, I did it! I'm now the proud owner of those cool chrome tail lights on ebay and without having to wait for the seller to get back to me. Thanks again to all of you who took the time to reply to my question about whether these would fit my 05. And Fujiz_xb, like your "taught", as these are going on a black cherry xB, so I hope they'll look good

Firesquare-interested in what you know about APC's. I decided against the retro APC's as they only seem to be an idea someone has and not on the market yet anyway. Took the ones on ebay with the "buy it now" option that I was asking questions about here on the forum. Are you suggesting those are APC's as well? The seller didn't advertise them as such, but maybe there's a reason for that! Either way, I'm stuck with 'em now, so let me down easy, will ya

Also appreciate all the info on the graphics stuff. Will check out the websites that have been suggested. Am considering having a custom one done, a "cherry bomb" with a pair of cherries with a lit fuse on an exploding starburst background. May want something a little less extreme however, so still looking around before I make my decision.

APC------Another Piece of Crap

im happy on your selection ani i think they look ok but here me out

from my experence and others i know. i used to buy APC products for my focus. every product i purchased (and others focus and non focus owners alike) had some type of failure or caused damage to a car

i seen 98% of APC lenses either broken because of the red altezza lens poped out from normal operation, Light bulbs burning out in a week, moisture in every light they sell (poor seals from APC) and etc.

you can ask others if they had a previous car and experenced products from APC

a buddy of mine bought a CF hood from them. it was warped from the factory. causing him to use hood pins. a 700 hood already warped. IMO APC is a bad company.

the only thing i like about them is their products are made mostly in the USA and its creating jobs for us Americans

just my rant and rave

hmmm, so it sounds like maybe these tails weren't such a great bargain after all. The seller offers a 30 day warranty, which I will make sure I print out and keep a REAL close eye on these babies EVERY day for the first 30 days. Any problems and I'll ship 'em right back Thanks for the heads up firesquare!

be sure to remove them in the winter if you live in the snow belt. Cold weather seems to ruin any type of aftermarket lites and they begin to leak water. try to be patient nad wait till spring to install them. I speak of experience and had a set of meatballs ona Neon of four years. Never leaked water, but used them in the winter. Jus my 2 cents.
