i have a 04 scion it was when i dyno it at 98hp 96 lbs of torque i added a dc headers jdm exhaust 2.25 piping ported thorthle body . i dyno it again and i have 133hp and 130 lbs of torque when i shoot nitrous it goes to 198 hp and 195lbs of torque stock clutch why buy a turbo when it takes you to 144 hp that sucks and i just made some mods next is portandpolish cnc and 5 angle valve job and milling the head .020 with pistons and conrods i should be at 250s ? ohhh yeah im building my own intake manifold i will build in a couple of weeks question hit me up

i have no issue w/ people spending their own money for mods but why buy a scion for power/speed to begin with.

if that isn't a sleeper than i don't know what is

Did you buy the ported throttle body, or did you just have it done? Maybe I'm an idiot...is porting kind of the same as boring....like shaving a little off of the inside to increase the diameter? If so, how much did you take off? 130hp is EXACTLY what would make me happy with this car.

even so, not from those mods...that would be 22 hp......those mods probably make somewhere closer to 8hp.....

im gonna raise the B.S flag because 1. the engine could not handle that power with stock internals ( the rod is no thicker than your ring finger) and 2. those minor mods can not bring the engine to 133 hp. even if 198 is possible with your supposed nitrous shot, your stock clutch would turn to gravy with a sudden nitrous burst. EL proto already fried their stock clutch producing power levels far BELOW your claimed power. proof is required...

I bought my Scion for a daily driver and perhaps to fix up so it handles well and looks nice. If I wanted a fast car I would buy an F-body. Personally making a Scion fast is a waste of money, it would cost as much as a whole car to get even enough power to make them probably be as fast as an F-body would be stock. Certain cars are good at certain things, and not so much at other things, its just a fact. The only FWD import I would spend any time fixing up would be a Honda because there is so many parts and so much stuff you can do with them and actually get good results for not that much cash.

I'm in agreement... I got a Scion to stand out from the pack of commuter cars out there and for the price. I plan on doing a little ricing of my own, but only for my own satisfaction and not any serious performance boost. A CAI for midly stronger engine sound and/or a better air/oil filter, maybe even undercar LEDs or neons, a decal, maybe a decent rear wing if I can find one that fits a hatchback.

But all that other jazz... an uber exhaust, throttle porting, NOS... that's all just too much for my tastes. Kudos for the serious engine tuners, but I want my unique xA to have just enough uniqueness without creating situations that'll void my warranty. Between top speed and a tight budget, I'll stick to my budget and make decisions accordingly.

Now, if this were the '86 Celica I'm dreaming about... I'd mod that baby out just so I could live up to the Fujiwara Tofu Shop sticker that'd be on the side. XD

yes i know the people at el proto and the sad thing is when they where at the pomona speed way they ran a measely 16 quarter mile lol all the work on the turbo to be that fast . if you want to see my results you have tyo come to the races at ontario , dyno runs where rounded off if you think my internals cant handle the power man you need to go to school learn about metal orgy and the heat and friction you need to brake bend and melt youre material . i cnc ported my heads already , milled the head , 5 angle valve job and microploished the crank , conrods are done , and copyied the celica gts pistons for my own . if you dont believe me come to the raqces youll see my sleeper i make my own parts you guys pay for youre ____ and i was the designer for the first dc headers before they sold the company to aem.
