Default rocks+carbon fiber hood?

I am going to invest in a carbon fiber hood in the upcoming weeks and how do they deal with the random rocks thrown from tucks on the highway.

Does the carbon fibed crack with blows from rocks? Does it dent?

Just a couple questions and answers would be great.

i know that Lotus has some sort of clear bra type thing called "star shield" or something like that. is that the kind of clear bra you guys are talking about? it's really thin and can't even be noticed until you look REALLY closely and see the lines halfway down the hood. trust me when i say it's hard to see, i've ridden in a s/c Exige S. it also goes over the mirrors and maybe even the roof if i remember correctly..........................but yeah, anywho, is that the kind of clear bra you guys are mentioning or is it like, thick and obvious?

Yea, If you dont have the clear bra, It will simply chip your cf hood just like your windshield would chip. Same type of ship...

I have a clear bra on my Kaminari reverse cowl hood and it has saved my hood more than once! That Clear Bra stuff can really take a beating.

heres a link to get the stuff... Its where I got mine:

Yeah i am too planning to invest in a CF hood. But i was wondering What do you guys do when you carwash? Can the CF hoods be washed just like anything else? For example.. I use the Meguiars wash, and finish it with meguiars gold class liquid wax. Main question is , is it waxable?
