 Just when you thought I couldn't possibly do anymore to my xB, I decided to throw everyone for a loop. I added a custom, one-off, Magnaflow center exit exhaust!
Many THANKS to Ken (NCP31) of Michael's Mufflers on Stevens Creek Blvd for the custom work and sponsorship, Gene Tjin from Magnaflow for the help and advice, and Dave Moulton (Toy xbox) for sharing the same ideas/interests in modding!
Sorry if there are any red Xs, I used Imagestation.

i like it, but i don't like it. i like the idea of a center exit, but, for one thing, the patch job on the stock hole looks kinda bad. second, i think you shoulda made the cutout for the center match the shape of the exhaust tip. looks kinda weird with a square cutout, and a rounded tip. otherwise, it looks great  just my 2 cents

From my first post:
"Not photoshopped, just my poor bodywork on fibreglassing and filling the factory opening."
The patch work did not turn out that well. I don't care as the lip will be replaced soon.
Some like my mod, some don't. I like it, and that's alll that matters.
I posted that comments were appreciated, good or bad.
I just happen to be the first one to complete this mod. Others can do the same and improve on it.

It's too bad that lip is split in the middle, thats the only thing I don't like, but not you fault

It's pretty cool. A dual outlet tip may look better, may not. Either way the tip protrudes from the bumper about 1"-1.5" which I don't care for, flush is the way to go.

I hadn't found a dual tip that I actually liked. I did like the oblong Magnaflow tip that's on there now.
The rear lip will eventually be replaced with a new fibreglass one. I wasn't sure about the placement, so I decided on wht you see in the pics. I thought it was pretty cool to have the word "Magnaflow" showing. If I had planned on keeping the factory rear lip, I would have had the top of the tip flush with the rear lip.
Please keep the good and bad comments coming. They may help me change it around a bit in the real near future.

Its a prototype CF trunk handle replacement from bBist.com. Yes, a full replacement, not an overlay. I will have some after SEMA for anyone in the Nor*Cal region interested in it.
Nice!. I like it. I actually checked-it-out after the Friday night meet. That's pretty daring mod and it came pretty tricked...

Roger,
THANKS!
I would still be stock if I didn't show up to my first meet in August last year, and seen your xB. I only had a week or two and when I saw your xB, I knew I had to lower it and and some aftermarket wheels.
Thanks for the motivation.

Dave,
Single pipe along the outside of the sideskirt. Have start up front coming out of the sideskirt. Don't forget the thin red stripe on the whhel, or on the tire itself. Yes, and the flame kit too.
Then you'll have to get some ____fer extensions like Ken (NCP31). Like this:

squirrel,
Are you going to get a lip fabricated into the cut of the bumper?
I'm patiently waiting for a lip kit to be finished. The opening will follow the contours of the new tip, and will be less square at the top of the opening. I'm just waiting for the kit to be finished.

So then has anyone done side exhaust? Like F-150 Lightning edition? Is that even possible?
squirrel
11-10-2004, 03:08 AM
I was thinking about that also. The problem is the frame rails. The exhaust piping will have to go below that, and if your xB is lowered, it'll definitely scrape.
The way my exhaust is set-up, the muffler is set high up against the floor, so the resonator actually hangs lower than my muffler, and the tip.

Hey Brad I was working on getting either one of these exhausts but mucho moola $$$ thought I would post these pics to give some more ideas on how to do a custom exhaust VIP style 8)
Holding up good. Since the pic was taken, the resonator was change out and 2.25 was used throughout. I didn't have a glasspack muffler welded in like most shops do. I had someone ask me if I was SC'd a few weeks ago w/ the sound and back pressure change.
I was at the SE party, did you go?

Not sure how much the set-up cost over-all as it was partly sponsored.
Yeah, if I didn't have this custom set-up, I would have the Strup axleback.
