used sand to fill it, I'm just at .6 Soundstream says .7 is optimal, but also state .5 to 1.1 will work as well. Good thing is I'm only looking to fill in the lows, not blow out windows

That is very nice... One of the best installs I've seen so far that doesn't look so gawdy looking. Anyways, how does the enclosure stay in place? Do you still have to mount it with screws?

Looks like you beat me to the punch! That came out quite nicely. I am still trying to come up with a good method for securing the box. Are you thinking of securing it to the rear tie down hook (then velcro to keep it from laying over during a hard turn)?
Where did you get that speaker ring? Is it a 12" or 10"

That's a 10" got it from a rather awesome machinist I know who milled it to the specs of the sub. I'm still deciding how I'm gonna secure it. it almost snaps into place in that pocket on the right of the trunk but I wouldn't trust just that ya know?

pop out the sub....... screw right thru the back side of your new box into the wall....... put your sub back in....... just a thought.... jh

Actually, I'm gonna fasten it from the top, the cargo cover bracket sits over part of the box, the bottom actually sits into the pocket.

Hey lv,

I just came up with an idea for fastening your box down securely with minimal effort. The right rear tie down hook can be removed, leaving a very stout mounting point for the box. You could then measure where to drill out your box to line up with that hole, then bolt it in. That should be more secure than the cargo cover bracket...

Highly recommend reading through some of the stuff there. Fiberglassing is NOT hard. I started fiberglassing with no tutorials when I was 15.

Yup, damn good reading there too. Just remember, it's fiberglass, wear gloves, wear a mask, and to avoid getting killed by your wife, do it outside.

I can't recall how many headaches I've had by glassing... Respirator, glasses, gloves, long sleeve, etc. FOR SURE.

whats is that silver material in the second image? Looks almost like sound deadener or something?

Foil tape, the kind used on heating ducts. Resin dosen't stick to it to well so it makes a great backing for the job. Aluminum foil works too but you gotta tape it down etc..
