Default 12" sub *NEW* plexi-grill added this weekend

Well I took out my old sub-box that took away alot of cargo space & had to physically 'move' to access the spare compartment.

Then the guys at the shop made this for me

Then I bolted the new box into the side wall & put the woofer into it's new home.

I can still access the spare compartment & remove the foam tray WITHOUT removing the box.
Thanks for looking....

Very Nice. I really want to put my system in my XB but cant afford to lose my cargo space. I was kind of thinking about having them mounted in the cargo space floor but then that would mean losing my foam tray and spare tire. How much did that run you?

three things

1. www.fiberglassforums.com read everything
2. nitrile gloves (the blue rubber like ones), long sleeves, filter mask, and do it outside.
3. if you dont want to get resin on it, cover it! and everything else within a square mile of it

jimmbomb, looking sweet!!!! how many cf is that and if you don't mind me asking, what did you have to lay down for that? i want to do the same thing, but want to get a good estimate from as many people as i can before going thru with it. (sounds like i'm getting a procedure done, eh?) i don't want to get taken by the sound shop guys, you know?

Thanks guys for the comp[liments. They shop guy told me 1.7 something /c/f & charged me 350....
I almost balked when he first quoted me 400 but then they came up with a 10% discount for being a Scion Club member & that left me feeling like I GOT SOMETHING.. LOL LOl I am such a cheap bastard, but if I really want something, then I bargian & dicker like there's no tomoommorrow.. & still wont commit untill I get something even if it's just a measly 10%, I wont budge till I do... Anyways..
Some of you'se may think.. GOD, that['s too much $$ to pay for just a box, BUT I like it & it's worth the cost to me as far as sound & form & function & convience 0f not loosing too much cargo space.. thanks agian.. jh

ps whitebreadbox, after I got that estimate, then I shoped 2 other shops for prices for the same idea, & bother were higher, then went back to the original shop. I doesnt hurt to ask around.! Hell look at how much we saved by returning out extededwarrenties, & re=purchasing them from Troy...

Thanks go to STLSCION club members 'Shainifer06' & 'UltimateRide1' for their contributions to this project.

Whispaz..... Well I came up with the idea & took a picture of the rear badge for a template.
Shain drew up the .dfx file for the CNC machine.
Bonnie at regal Plastics set up the material & programmed the CNC & did the cut.
Joe came up with & fabricated mounting brackets & drilled & threaded the holes & buttoned it up.
And finally, I used PLCC's to light it up.....

sho0b0x.... a guy now in the STL SCION room after seeing this says he does that kind of stuff at his work. I asked him for a $quote$ on making that piece. When he responds, I'll let you know how much, then you can decide if you want 'em too.......
Thanks for all the kind words, every-1...

Well if i had access to a CNC I could do to too, I do design work in cad for my job. So FYI if anyone wants anything designed far as cad work for anything, shoot me a pm. But yeah if its reasonably priced, i would buy 2, otherwise I would locate a CNC and do it myself. I just have to check to see if my squadron has one, otherwise Id have to drive back home to use my grandfathers.
